Most likely they'll give out some keys like with Fall of Oriath
And most likely you'll have the option to buy a key Wouldn't be surprised if they just gave you a key if you've spent enough on the game |

If it works like the Fall of Oriath beta, the people who've spent gobshytes on the game will get beta keys, there will be a Supporter Pack option to acquire beta access, and I believe they also had a list you could sign up for to try and receive free (but randomized) beta access, like a Beta Lottery. Or Bottery, if you will.
That said, this is Path of Exile 2 the brand new game, not just a PoE1 expansion. No clue if the beta will work the same as FoO. They need enough players in the EA/Beta period to put the economy through its paces, so it won't be hard to gain beta access. WIll it be 100% free and guaranteed for everybody? Dunno. No way to tell. I suspect there will be a path to free access, but it'll be paid for a guarantee or take your chances for a lucky free invite.
If it is anything like the last 2 betas there will be an option to buy a key (though likely as part of a pack) or there will be a random draw.
For Fall of Oriath they also included beta access for those with a life time spend of $500+ (if this is an option for the PoE2 beta they might increase the amount for the life time spend) OR they could do something different this time round. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

Similar to PoE 1 you will need to buy in to Early Access of PoE 2 however don't expect to see "Keys" as such as these can be re-sold by multiple CD Key websites and they definitely won't go that route.
For any giveaways they will most likely just apply the access to your account. Same for the purchase it will get applied to your account without actually seeing a key. |

Do we need to register our email on the poe2 site in order to have a chance for key or the register option there is just for news?

" Any currently existing registration option is just for newsletter crap. Grinding Gear hasn't made a single announcement about how PoE2 beta access will work, with the sole half-exception of Jonathan confirming in the recent Witch interview with Darth and Ghazzi that there will be supporter packs tied to the early access cycle. Worth noting: he did not confirm they would come with access, though I cannot imagine there would not be a supporter pack option for obtaining access. This was also an off-the-cuff interview answer, not any formal declaration of policy. Mostly came off as Jonathan admitting it'd be dumb not to have supporter packs pushed out alongside the beta/EA period and willing to say yeah, they're gonna make that happen. Insofar as gaining free access, if free access is available at all? No details yet whatsoever.
" Eh... I've gotten into the FoO beta. Well, I don't know how much a gobshyte is, granted. Bird lover of Wraeclast

I honestly have no idea why anyone thinks this 'gobshytes of support cash' thing is a thing for PoE 2 EA. Fall of Oriath was an expansion for Path of Exile 1; it stood to reason that substantial supporters of Path of Exile 1 get some sort of early crack at it, given there was a pretty big connection between 'substantial support' and 'substantial experience with the game' then. Especially if we consider that GGG wanted FoO to be tested as a whole new ten act experience rather than an end-game add-on. So substantial supporters who had experience with the game's campaign but probably weren't too wrapped up in its gruelling end-game were *very* important for early testing.
But for PoE 2? I see no real connection, unless we're going with support not for PoE 1 but for GGG. And that's not quite the same thing, is it? I have absolutely no doubt I could 'beg' my way into EA PoE 2, but I do not expect to receive an invitation out of the blue. And if they do monetise it, well, I have more than proven that I am content to throw in a bit of cash to try something new. Not that I will here because oh boy am I happy to wait and see what PoE 2 is on release -- more than done my time in the trenches of alpha/early access, where expectations need to be tempered constantly and even then you're probably going to be disappointed with the disparity between EA and release somehow. So really it'll come down to whether they're using EA as a true testing ground first and foremost, or a fundraiser. It can't be both equally, and I suspect most Exiles would claim to want the former but REALLY want it to be the latter. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
