So after many many many kernel.dll failures trials and errors i have tried literally everything, i have found a solution (for my system at least 14900kf on a ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE). I didnt crash yet with these settings in a 6-7 hours long session Before these settings i was getting pretty much 1 random crash/hour with kernel.dll app failure. I don't even wanna talk about Delirium.

First I went into BIOS and Disabled E-cores, Turbo mode and Hyperthreading (14900kf ASUS Z790 Apex Encore) i have undervolt and underclocked my system previously i'm on 5.5ghz after the Intel microcode failures just to be safe
Then i went into Video settings capped my fps to 240 (as i have a 240hz monitor and background FPS cap to 30.
VSync is off
DirectX 12
Pretty much everything else is on LOW/Disabled except Muthithreading.
Then on Sound settings Channel count changed to Low
Is it fucking stupid to "handicap" or downgrade a system like that to play PoE?? Absolutely. Does these settings make any sense? I'm kinda confused. Is PoE confused with these many cores? I don't know man. The thing is that with these tweaks i haven't crashed yet for longer sessions. For now this is the only way for me to play the game. Hope this is not the case for PoE 2.
I have found the solution to this, its the full screan setting of the game, DO NOT RUN the game in full screen mode, run it in windowed full screen.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case on my system. I kept on crashing no matter what. Until i changed some BIOS settings.
i had this with everything reset including windows, as soon as i took of full screan mode, hasnt crashed since

Let's not blame PoE, I'm pretty sure you have a hardware problem there.

You might have applied the latest Intel microcode fixing their excessive internal voltage, but it might already have fried your chip. The buggy original microcode didn't just cause crashes, it was actually damaging the hardware, progressively over time.

If you want, run some heavy non-PoE benchmarks. Perhaps you can still ask Intel for a chip replacement.

The thing is that I have exactly the same kernel.dll fails on my girlfriend's system running a 7800x3d on a X670 mb @6400mhz ram no ovferclock or voltage tweaks just XMP on. I'm not the only one having the same issues and it doesn't only happen on 13th-14th gen processors. I have done several benchmarks with the most recent being AIDA64 Extreme lasting half an hour to an hour without any problems at all. So something is not right with the PoE and it's been a week or so since the specific problems started to appear. It is the only game in which kernel failures appear, at least for me. At this point im committed to find a solution at least for what is happening to my system. I went back to my previous BIOS settings (on 5.50Ghz Turbo mode on, Hperthreading Enabled, E-cores All) but this time I only changed the ingame settings. Apparently and after a long session (5-6 hours) nothing crashed, this leads me to the conclusion that my problem seems to be with Channel count @ ingame Sound Settings probably, since i set it to Low everything was fine. I will come back later after more tests.

Sadly that isn't it; I've run the game in windowed full screen since Delve league; both Steam and standalone client; both crashed with the kernelbase.dll error in the event viewer.

I tried quite a lot of setting; my last was running the windows command to check for corrupted windows files. Since then it didn't happen anymore -> it did fix some broken windows files.

---------------

@everyone:

I upgraded my entire PC hardware so no clue if the error might still occur (I hope not). I'll keep everyone posted.

Specs for the interested:

Motherboard: Asus TUF Z790-plus wifi
CPU: Intel i7-14700K
Cooling: Corsair H150i-ELITE CAPELLIX XT 360 mm (RGB)
Memory: 32GB (2x16gb) DDR5 - 5600 (corsair)
GPU: RTX 4070-Ti Super (Tuf)
Storage: Samsung 980 pro M2

-> Let's play Path of Exile 2 in 4K!

For those still having the error; I would first run the Windows command to check for corrupt files; and also double check your OC setting.

To my understanding and extensive research to fix it could be related to power fluctuations of your memory due to OC settings not being finetuned or managed "correctly." Underclocking your system for POE1 could potentially make it more stable. -> Kernelbase.dll is "often" related to files not being properly handled by your memory, thus resulting in a game crash.
Mostly because POE1 is an older game (engine) and isn't build for the standard OC systems of "today."

See you all in Path of Exile 2!
Was able to fix this issue with the XTU tool from Intel. Was having the same issue playing MARVEL Rivals and looks like they found the solution for it:

Hope this helps!
Got the same problem. Im running 7800x3d / nvidia 2060.
