You will still be able to play your characters in PoE 1. It isn't going away any time soon.

I agree with xjjanie#4242 - We can still play Path of Exile 1 and enjoy a new journey in Path of Exile 2, as I'm doing now. I like both games overall.

However, I sincerely hope GGG considers adding Mounts in the game, because always walking or running is a bit lame and not fun. I believe Mounts in Path of Exile would be super awesome, fun and epic to have, and it would be another way for GGG to make more money to support both games. I read there are plans for Mounts in the game, and if so, all classes should have access to a Mount. Also, considering how cool cosmetics look with gear, weapons and other in-game items in PoE, I can only imagine how cool looking Mounts will be for Path of Exile 1 or 2 or both. I would definitely buy some epic skins for that! ;-)

* Back on the transferring of items and stuff from PoE1 to PoE2, I purchased the early access for Path of Exile 2 and love it! I also noticed my stash and some other features I purchased for PoE1 are in PoE2, which is awesome! So this is very good.

Basically, all Players should consider this like an expansion. You have to evolve and expand your horizons to new adventures and leave the past behind. Besides, it's always fun to start a fresh, new and challenging adventure!

Grinding Gear Games did a great job with PoE2 and continues to deliver above and beyond most games I play, even though WoW is my favorite game of all time, PoE1 and PoE2 are awesome! I wish D4 was at least out of Beta and much better but for now that is wishful thinking - maybe sometime in the future... lol.
