Remember poe.trade?
" see I heard rumors and saw some information about it along with hunches but wasn't fully aware of the receipts. I try to keep my nose out of stuff till it gets big enough and starts really bothering me and my game play and my enjoyment of the game. I don't enjoy how poe trade system works, never have, but kept my mouth relatively shut till very recently because back in the day they were still a "indie" company before they got scooped up by tencent so i was very understanding about how trade worked in-game and trade chat but even back then people were hoping for a better form of trading and it took ages just to get a site trade system and it was only after players made one for them. " Pretty much. You can say whatever you want about TFT, egos, small men with too much power and control freaks, and most of it would probably be true when it comes to TFT. But the responsibility here lies solely on GGG. They need to do one of two things: If something is not intended to be traded, make it impossible to trade. If something is intended to be traded? Facilitate for it. It shouldn't be rocket science. There's not a single reason why they cannot make beasts, compasses and sets more easily tradeable in bulk, as well as itemize certain Betrayal mechanics. When it comes to services, on the other hand, I'm a little bit split. Should the game really facilitate for paying others to play the game for you? I don't like the idea of boss/XP carry mechanics. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Some of you are forgetting that GGG is a business at the end of the day. And putting in time and effort into a tool that is already available and that will not bring in more players nor will it generate any revenue for them in any shape is them literally taking a pile of money and burning it. Since the same dev time could be spent working on PoE 2, or creating the next league.
Yes, extra qol is nice, and I'm first in line when it comes to complaining about missing qol features. But saying its easy to have something whipped up real fast that can take over what TFT does, which has been growing trough contributions of several devs, multiple moderators, tons of mistakes and probably hundreds if not thousands of manhours invested... then no. No way. Especially since it would have to be up to standard as it would be an official tool. And could not afford crashes or downtime like a 3rd party tool can afford. |

perfectly put @Phrazz
Looking through the "GGG is a business" lens, one more thing is all of this drama around TFT is a bad rep. I have read a lot of screenshots where many people have given up the trade league or the game itself to stay away from this toxic cesspool. As a business, keeping a safe and welcoming community is also something they have to consider. Stop enabling third-party to set rules to, dictate, or keep a blacklist(over ~98000 IGNs) for YOUR game, GGG. player agency, where?
"do you guys not have phones?" - blizz 2018 "do you guys not have 2 monitors, 3 overlays, 4 discord, 5 websites, 6 loot filters?" - ggg or smth 2024 "deal with it" - ggg, 2024 | |
they honestly just need to step up and do it.. its been long enough.

They wont do anything. they havent done anything and it shows player base means nothing. I have spent a lot of money on mtx over the past 11 years and I can honestly say I wont ever again. I wont support a game developer that doesnt support its own game.

TLDR: Trade needs an update, not only for QoL, but also for OBVIOUS other reasons.

Just the fact it took them years to put together a freaking trade site and pay for the costs of a 3rd party wiki shows to me they probably only put up with TFT and the allegedly RMT that goes on there because it's convenient for them. TFT does all the stuff their trade site cannot do, they don't have to lift a finger to implement all that stuff themselves.
The only solution is just that, to implement all that stuff on their trade site. Forget about AH, that will never happen, and I'm glad it won't. However, players who use TFT will only drop it once ALL those tools are available officially. Not some, ALL, including vouch and blacklist players. I mean, you can't even bulk trade map sets, it's ridiculous. Until then TFT will keep being a thing. If it falls another one will take their place and we'll be back where we're at now. |
