Great SSF experience
or whatever. Played 4 weeks and grinding hard. No cool builds to make, no good drops, no good rng. Useless trash all around. In ssf you can play those shit builds that require no investment as you cant do what you want as drops ar shit cuz they are from standard where whales farms ubers like fat kids cakes. Pretty sad to write this. game is bad and Im trying to be nice saying this. Wasted lot of time to be nowhere and get nothing. Trash items from pinacles ( or whatever it is written) - fkin bow and shit boots. All the time same unique items drops. All the time. No changes. 1 in 1000 is different pool. No ralakesh impatience. Really dont understand why you made same drops in SSF? maybe you should not allow chars to be moved to standard and make it better. Your game wasted my time and I have few bad words for you for that. If you think you will know what are those words. Thanks for nothing and dont delete this post. Let some people have some fun from my frustration. [Removed by Support]

Enjoy market-driven balance in the game. You're supposed to trade if you want to succeed. Or invest even more time.

Don't play ssf as it's obviously not for you.
It's not a new mode and you need to set your own realistic goals that work for you. I play the trade league, blasting through juiced content with my headhunter and I love it. Doing some challenges along the way when I feel like it. | |
This is my first time doing SSF for a league and I'm definitely not having a bad experience. It takes a lot longer to get good gear but that's SSF
Also, dropped a mirror for the first time today too |

I agree, the SSF experience is great at the moment!
Just killed the first ubers this league on my Staff Smite Inquisitor and having a blast. gl with ur SSF journey! (oh I didn't read ur post, because my eyes started to bleed. Anyway the title said it all, am I right?) Last edited by Sadaukar on Jan 21, 2024, 8:11:07 PM

SSF is pretty horrible in a lot of ways. The way item tiers work tend to account for the entire playerbase and their habits and not what individual players do, so drops of maps/chisels/sextants/regrets look fine as a whole, but are horrible as a solo player.
Truth is that SSF needs a lot of adjustment to really be a "game" that feels complete. Too many things just don't exist, are too rare, aren't engaging enough to really be praised as a good thing. SSF also doesn't allow for players to get items that typically make the game feel better to play, like defiance of destiny, early watcher's eyes, early shaper's touch. A lot of core uniques too builds just don't exist for the vast majority of SSF. And the game feels balanced around access to easy ways to mitigate the vast amounts of monster damage they have added through the years, making the viable builds drastically limited. Just getting to five and six link items is annoying enough without trade. In trade league I can spend like 1.5 divines and get whatever I want six linked, and spam the chrom button or vorici until I get my socket colors. It would be better for the game as the whole for the devs to invert the ways they check to see if the game drops enough items. They should see if a solo player can sustain map strategies or not, if a solo player can feasibly make the items their build needs or not. When upgrades start taking multiple days to get in trade league, that could be months in standard SSF. The grind just isn't fun at that level. SSF and Ruthless aren't challenging, just boring. Hardcore isn't tough, just waiting to die to service issues. They need to make these optional modes more entertaining and improve the base game at the same time. Making standard a graveyard of players has only hurt them in the long run honestly. At least in my opinion. |

Almost the best league for ssf of all time.

" You're spot on, however GG just aren't going to adjust the game for SSF because it would undermine most of the core tenets that the game is built on. 1. GG fricken LOVE trade. The game is built around it. They want players to swap stuff with one another and one way they achieve this is by ensuring your chances of finding all the stuff you need by yourself are virtually nil. 2. Friction. GG want you to play as much and as long as possible. The longer you engage with the game, the more likely you are to spend money with them. Or, if you're not spending money, you're likely trading which then improves the experience for other players who need to trade. One way they achieve this is, you guessed it, making it near impossible for you to obtain everything you need by yourself. Despite all that I continue to play SSF because I loath the trade mechanics so much in this game. It is disappointing to not be able to play some very cool builds that require several items to interact to actually work properly but I'll struggle through with a few things I have that do work. You're going to need to either adopt a similar approach or convert to trade league to achieve what you would like to. GG just aren't going to change. Alternately, hope that one of the ARPG competitors finally provides a good challenge to GG. Last Epoch seems to be trying out a system that could be better. |

" So... don't play SSF? The whole point of SSF is that things are harder to get there, that you have to farm stuff yourself so that at the end of the day you can say to yourself that you achieved it on your own, and not because you could buy your gear, boss kills and whatever. "That’s one interpretation. Personally my ‘whole point’ of SSF is not engaging with trade, and the difficulty (and ability to ‘say to yourself you achieved it on your own’ for people into that) is just a side-effect. I don’t play SSF because it’s harder - I don’t care if it’s harder or not. I’m choosing it in order to play a game about my character’s adventures in Wraeclast, without some fourth-wall-breaking Earth economy layered over the top. So I think it’s a mistake to assume others are necessarily choosing SSF for a challenge (though many do, no doubt). Last edited by GusTheCrocodile on Jan 22, 2024, 1:30:47 AM
