Why so many trade bots? How to avoid them? Is it acceptable?

As some people stated before, those are not bots, but rather real people who use the "live search" feature on official trade website to be warned as soon as an item shows up for the price they want to pay.

And yes, most of the first 10 prices of the item you're selling are just price fixers. Try to avoid them when you adjust your price, they're just trying to price fix the market of that item so they can snipe them at lower prices.

Tip: Put them on your ignore list and most of them, as the time passes by, will just disappear.

Where would we be without the bots, half the time they're the only ones trading currencies.
We tested it extensively

that's live searching lol

Hell I have 12 live searches right now

How the hell is this a “live search” if there are only white messages there? i.e. without item tool tip. and no one is invited to hideout and party invites are canceled immediately.

I no longer respond to white whispers because they aren't players! You can't chat with them either. no one answers.

However, I read something different in the steam forum.
super hard-working "player" offers an item super cheap that doesn't afk 24/7. and of course he never trades.
The other super hard-working “player” immediately buys all items that are cheaper than those offered by the other account. and then later sells them at an overpriced price.
At least they told you the price was incorrect
They do you a favor by price checking your items. lot's of bot spam means something's wrong about your price :)
But yea it's kinda sad of how many bots are on the market these days. Game should be fully balanced around ssf or small party play to end this entire bot and rmt drama once and for all.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
