If you are using guides, you should at least try to figure out WHY the guide makes the choices he does. When it comes to CoC builds there is an effective trigger rate that is heavily influenced by CDR and has breakpoints. Here are the 3 realistic ones that you should be aware of:

You can reach the 7.57 breakpoint with level 1 ACOC alone. And that breakpoint is more than enough already for a CoC build. If you want to minmax further you can go for the 10.10 breakpoint you'll need more CDR, ACOC with high level is a possible source for that but there are others, much cheaper ones. And the benefit you get from level 6 gem compared to level 5 is tiny, we are talking 3% here. Just get that elsewhere and you're good.

Note that since it's breakpoint based, any CDR that goes past the requirement for the breakpoint without reaching the next one has ZERO effect. There is no difference whatsoever between 14% CDR and 51%.

Perosnally I make money faster than I spend it. I make new build, I spend 50 divines on it, before I get to 95-96 (usually my stopping point for builds) I make like 80-100 divines on that character.
