Characters sent to void league on death should NOT be a map mod

I 100% agree with the OP.
There should be NO OPTION to send a dead character in a softcore league to VOID.

That defeats the entire purpose of softcore and will have many players upset if they die in this mode. (I know I would be and I rarely read through map mods...)

GGG Please REMOVE this mod as an option!
hate these boxes with a passion to the point where for the first time since domination im seriously quitting the game, never thought itd end this way really.

the risk vs reward argument makes no sense. its insane risk for someone with their regular non meta character for relatively meh rewards. its low risk for someone who levels a budget alt specifically designed to run these maps for insane rewards. theres a reason why hardcore doesnt have a default +1000% iiq modifier: its a bad idea, play hardcore or be poor isnt a choice - its extortion

the impact these boxes already have is ridiculous i remember strict balance checks for item submissions in order for them to not break the game, few days in almost half the magebloods on the market are foiled already - foiled, the special ones, are soon gonna be 80% of all magebloods, so special indeed - what happened to making sure submissions dont break the game?

why did they decide to add the boxes in a way that was permanent without testing when they have a history of using league mechanics as a platform to test things?
why couldnt they have made the boxes add items to private/custom leagues instead? sc is supposed to be a curated balanced experience not the equivalent of letting reddit choose your new phone

making the game worse to sell supporter packs to rich kids who like to troll, have i been playing a gacha mobile game this entire time?

The game isn't broken. You haven't actually described a problem. People are getting these items. Okay, so what?

Valdo's box isn't the only place where foil Magebloods are generated. Right now there is 23 of them listed on SC trade and 78 non-foil.

I hope the difference between 25% and 50% is easy enough for you to understand. Math is scary, I know..

I seriously wonder how much of this is genuine concern and how much is pure and unaplogetic jealousy.
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
my 50% statement was referring to non 2-3 corrupt brick, online only with buyout at the time - and it was accurate at that time

suggesting i was jealous that things got cheaper is pretty nonsensical. i want my chase items to be chase items, thats all.

i will concede that there is a significant amount of non valdo foiled magebloods however the amount of valdo magebloods is only expected to go up once people set up budget alt characters specialized to farm the rippy map variants and more boxes have been dropped

even if it was only 25% of magebloods being foiled later in the league that is still too high an amount compared to how rare foil status is on other items

and i still dont think void league has any place in softcore. be poor or risk void league is as much of a choice as your boss saying you can choose to not work unpaid overtime but then you wont get a promotion

"budget feared + petrification + only deal damage while 2 metres close" builds are the craziest power fantasy I ever heard about.

besides that non-sensical statement: even if there are more sources for magebloods I still don't see how that is a bad thing

I didnt read 12 pages before me but I have another point to make.

I agree with OP that SC players shouldnt face HC league consequences at all.
But also SC players shouldnt have the opportunity to run high thrilling and extremely high reward instances like this whenever they want. Most people will quit league on these maps for sure.

Softcore: Technically you dont die + when you quit league you shouldnt have thrill of HC.

A case like this is probably first time in gaming history.

If a significant amount of chase uniques are from this new source, it will become part of GGG's balancing of the drop frequency of those uniques. So the introduction of these special maps could very well lead to lowered general drop rates for chase uniques. I think that would be a bad thing, because then players are essentially coerced to run the rippy maps to maintain the same chance of dropping a given item.

I think, though, the warning dialog is the only possible compromise to a putting something in the game that should never have been introduced. It will not be removed. The game has just become a little bit worse - as so many times before.
Let each player choose which version of PoE to play:

This mod should be purged from the game.

im someone who trades, im forced to go into peoples hideouts to trade with them, what am i supposed to do about this?
For safe trading you can use a character that cant enter maps?

(BTW good thing for me I only play SSF so I dont have to deal with any of this ****.)

And I dropped one. Unlikely to use it. Maybe on Nessa or something. Do not want to support this mechanic.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Right, so you're not saying this is a bad thing, you're saying a different thing that hasn't happened is a bad thing.

Either way: you call them "chase uniques". If it's acceptable for them to be as rare as they currently are, it can't be changing anyone's game very much if they get a little bit rarer outside niche maps. If it takes two lifetimes to grind for an item instead of one, you're still dead.

Game developers changing drop rates is not coercion.
