Why are supporters packs so expensive?

In Brazil, the supporter pack is much more expensive than in the rest of the world. The last tier costs R$1,277BRL, the minimum wage for one month of work is R$1,412BRL. In other words, the supporter pack costs practically 1 month of work. It would be incredible if GGG managed to regionalize prices in emerging regions.

That sounds more like a problem of working in a minimum wage job with close to no freedom for luxury product. Prices ain't any different for people in Brazil and you would encounter the same issue with the "lack" of money in pretty much every county across the world with just a simple minimum wage job.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Here in Australia, a full time minimum wage job earns you a little over $3400 a month (after tax), which is ~$2222 USD. That makes the US$480 pack about 22% of a month’s minimum wage pay, which is still huge and not something people would be buying impulsively, but it’s a big difference from there to the 90% that EFTWScrazy mentions. If their numbers are accurate, clearly the differences between countries are not trivial.

You should also take the cost of a living in account to that and not just the price of the pack. Some countries for example have a way higher minimum wage than yours, but they also get fucked with crazy prices for a living at the same time. According to Google Brazil is about 52% cheaper for a living than the US, so even with the lower pay for minimum wage they are living pretty well.
So all in all you're in the same position as the Brazilian guys as you've also have to think about whether you buy the pack or not, or maybe save up for it over couple of months.
That sort of issue won't exist with a proper job regardless of the country cause you have enough spare money to throw it out in one month rather than saving up for it.

Minimum wage jobs are proper jobs.
If GGG were to accommodate the earlier requests to tailor prices according to regional buying power, then people would just use a VPN to purchase from Zimbabwe due to its $5.50 per month average income. The amount of work GGG would have to implement, just to take a pay cut would not be a business case their shareholders would accept. It will never happen.

Comparing previous posts about incomes, etc, to NZ standards.
Spoiler
I agree though, the supporter packs get absurdly expensive. An extremely difficult thing to process was the price of the Exilecon tickets for New Zealanders being $230 USD. We have a minimum wage income in NZ of $2,018.41 USD after tax, so a ticket was over 11.4% of what many make in a month. I live 25 minutes from where the venue was, but I couldn't justify that much money. A house where I live is on average $926,726.80 USD and so pretty much 95% of the population will never own a home.

The incomes here are low for a developed country, though everything is MUCH more expensive than most of the developed world. A 4090 is $4,000 for example.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

I'm from Brazil too and I can confirm what he said. It's 90% of a minimum wage.

But we can afford more skins/etc in other games that are a less expensive or have less expensive options.

I'd probably spend more in PoE if the prices were lower

At the core this is a byproduct of unimaginable corruption in our govenment but that's off-topic
