Who cares what other people are playing?
Just play whatever you have fun playing. It's not a contest to see who can play the build that the least amount of people are playing.

Or they're playing trade. Off-meta builds are much cheaper to gear, less demand.

My mate league practiced with HoAG Guardian abusing Storm Burst as a poison delivery modality to fast stack 75 virulence for his Kombat Buddy, but without tattoos to boost his block to take advantage of ES on block and no KILOAVA TIME ON BLOCK, there's a lot this build leaves to be desired.

One thing we've toyed around with is scaling the stupid robot minions somehow, either the RF relic or the big slow boi. Looking at some of the corpses you can buy, if there's a hydra or rectifier variant and if it has a level 20 aura, you can do rf by proxy. You could replace the CWC Storm Burst Firestorm with raining zombies, SRS, Wave of Conviction, or skeletons.

edit: since you're not relying on cyclone to deal damage - you can spin in a safe corner and CWC skeletons into existence, or you can use the high movespeed variant to tag for virulence/poison and phasing to stay sane.

Soulwrest Necro Cyclone. Just level as any minion build and switch once you reach 60 and have the staff. Soulwrest is a very common unique and if you play trade just get it for like 1c. Another important unique for it is Triad grip so, lol, it's not like its gonna break your bank or anything.

It was one of my favorite builds a few years ago. A 3.23 build guide for it popped up on my YT recommendations the other day. Really fun, and an alternative for those who want to feel more active when playing minions, since the cyclone gives the impression it's you doing the damage, kinda like SRS.
