Path of Exile 2 is getting WASD support for moving your character

You can use your keyboard to control character movement instead of only mouse clicks. So you can finally strafe & attack and retreat & attack without going nuts with the mouse!

We were asking for that since poe1's closed beta and never got it but of course it is part of poe2. It's feels like keeping poe1 down to make poe2 look better!

Alternatively, it could just be that click-to-move is traditional for ARPGs, and also that redesigning their entire game to add WASD was a gigantic pain the ass. Jonathan and Mark have talked about how much of PoE2 needed to be completely redesigned to accommodate WASD, so I'm guessing it's that one. And no, they probably won't be completely redesigning PoE1 to add WASD at this point, since that would essentially defeat the purpose of keeping PoE1 alive as a separate game.

They can remove move-click, WSAD is the only way.

No thanks.
If WASD is the only choice for movement, I'm out.

Click-to-move will still be an option. You'll just have more options.

I'm not a huge fan of WASD, either, but I also had to tap out of this league earlier than I wanted because my mousing hand was hurting. So I'm going to give WASD a proper try, see how it goes, and then decide. If WASD is good enough, and allows my aging hands to play PoE2 more, then I'll use it; if not, then I won't. I'm also planning on giving the gamepad controls a good workout, now that GGG have given so much thought to them; if they work well enough, then I'll use them, and if they don't, then I won't.

And that's how I'd advise anyone to approach WASD. Unless, of course, you've already decided that you're not going to give PoE2 a chance in general. That's fine, if it's how you feel, but you really can just feel that way without needing to use the existence of a WASD option as your excuse.

The all the conservatives out there saying they are too used to mouse and not gonna try WASD:

Mercenary/Ranger/Huntress will feel so much superior with WASD its not even funny...
this is the solution ......for all the games.

Sussy links aside, I can actually attest to this. I've been playing with a similar keypad under my left hand and a Naga MMO mouse under my right hand for over a decade now. I refuse to game any other way when it comes to mouse+keyboard.

Once you get used to it (and get used to the idea of remapping all your keybinds in every game to account for it), it is a paradigm shift for your gaming. The keypad completely eliminates the stress/strain of long gaming sessions on your fingers and wrists and puts buttons directly under your left thumb that aren't normally there, expanding easy/intuitive control options. And having a full set of controls on the mouse as well means far easier access to more buttons, more evenly, than a simple crappy two-button business mouse could ever allow for.

if you can afford it, the set-up will absolutely change your gaming for the better. I recently had to replace a six year old wired Naga Trinity with the wireless version and am sad because wireless peripherals are automatically terrible compared to wired, but it's still far more worth it than not. I will seriously never game with a conventional keyboard again unless the entire world just stops making these keypads, and even then I'll be scrounging on eBayzon for more until the very last one winks out and dies under my off hand.

If you have wrist pain or RSI issues with gaming? I cannot recommend a Tartarus keypad or similar device enough. It will change your dang life, if in a relatively smaller way than most such statements.
