Extremely disapointing melee offerings.... as is tradition

Most of them are kind of lame, just more damage or random buff, some are really sweet though. Hyper speed Double Strike and heavy hitting Earthquake sound like they'll go really hard.

I mean... to this day two of the top Uber builds in D2 are Shield bash (Sunder? was it called?) Paladin and Frenzy (I think) barb. Another top Uber slayer weas a Melee Druid build I can't recall the specifics of.

The point is even in D2 Melee had a niche where it was good.

GGG trying to reinvent the wheel when all they need to do is make it so melee has such a niche.

You know why melee was good in D2? Because D2 had immunities so going with spells and locking yourself behind an element was bad idea. That is single reason of that. PoE doesnt have monsters that are "immune to cold" for example so spell prevail.

yeah I agree there's some good in their, its just on the whole and contrasted by almost all minions and most spells getting 3 variations of each skill I can't help but wonder how GGG has no one there who has a boner for making cool melee stuff.

Wildstrike and "old sunder effectively" are bright points though.

Bleed could have been more represented. GGG definitely is objectively wrong about how strong bleed it. People hitting DOT CAP on spells and Poison. Bleed doing 1/15th to 1/30th of that if your lucky.

Bow bleed being 20x stronger than a big ass axe is just sad.

Which ones look good or great? And what new melee gems out perform plain old nomral Boneshatter? After the Heatshiver nerf all cold based build are scuffed. I think you have only two possible melee. That new Cleave and Consecrated Path. Cleave has sever drawbacks of requiring DW. Which caster build require DW wands? Or how about requires a certain kind of Wand? Look at that Lacerate of Butchering, 40% swing speed @ 310%, and that's it? With no Bleed? You got to be kidding me, Boneshatter can hit over 400% with it's AoE and it has stun duration, and Groundslam of Earthshaking can hit 340% @ 70% speed.

i will try to make it work . i love sunder.
but dont envy minions. they got total shit :D. on the other hand spells got good options and thats stupid

Not True, how about a Rage Vortex you can have least 3 Vortex at a time? How about an Ensnaring Arrow type of bleed for Melee? Freaking Bow user a range weapon can make Bleeds hit harder than anything a melee can do. Why did they totally gut Chieftains melee? Soon as Chieftain had a single skill it could do ok (smite) it was nerfed, and it was very expensive build at that.

How about some mid tier uniques added to compete with caster builds? You can buy a very decent caster weapon which can do Ubers for under 10c and there are loads of them. I can think of only a very few melee. How about making Skill gems scale melee damage better so we are not reliant on a 50 Divine weapon?

How about making casters have to spec wands or staffs like we have to spec axes, swords, or hammers? How about +1 Wands requiring lvl 68 to even craft? Why does every melee skill have to tax us so hard compared to new caster skill gems?

If you look at this last years Melee types Gems how many are being used besides Boneshatter. Well the nefed Cheiftan's out of his +1 totems so that totally screwed Earthbreaker to being totally unusable. Has anyone ever used Behead? Volcanic Fissure? Total dud... Or they make you eat a skill gem slot to cast a linked spell. Why is it so many other games have good melee skills yet, PoE can't seem to comeup with hardly any? To tell the truth D 4 really makes PoE look like poo when it comes to melee.

So you are saying they should buff melee gems that people are already using? Yeah, you proved my point.
