Why is it always 1 week events?

I don't know about the rest of the community but I have a job outside of PoE. So 5-6 days out of the 7 day event I am working. That gives me a couple hours a day and maybe a day or two off to spend on PoE. What am I supposed to accomplish in this time frame?

I understand people are bonkers and get through the story in a couple hours, down endgame bosses in a day, etc. But I'd like to participate in some of these random events from time to time but it's always such short time windows to do so. I'd barely get into like tier 6-10 maps in a week.

I kind of wish they would be month long and you just pick the one you want to engage with it. Or if you are really good and have free time, you can do all of them. But maybe this is just me. I've just never been a fan of the event schedules because they seem to favor fast racing style players.

A lot of people can have fun with a couple of hours a day for a week. I'm in the same boat as you; job, family and other obligations destroy the possibility of me "beating everything" in a 7 day event. Luckily, I can adjust my goals and mindset, and can have fun in an event even though I won't achieve as much as I'd like to.

Now, though, I have two fractures in my right hand and finger with four screws sticking out from the bone, and won't be playing anything for quite some time.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

This is 100% wrong. There has never been a league where I couldn't play at my own pace even with RL responsibilities and work. I personally play around a month give or take a week depending on how the league is. And outside of the super 1% of mirror tier items.. I can accomplish whatever goal I set out to do.

Asking me to forgo everything else in life just to play PoE at every available moment is honestly just trash. People wonder why most of the time people just go after the free box with these events. These events are what... once or twice a year at best. This is not asking much for a company that has grown so much over the years to figure something out.

If each event was 3 weeks long and ran at the same time. How would this hurt any elite player who giga rushes the game in 24 hours. You'd still be able to play the way you play while others could enjoy the same content but over the course of a couple weeks.

It's just odd to me but judging by the responses in this thread... I guess I am the minority.

You missed the point. Players with RL are not part of the target audience. Sure, they can play this game anyway, GGG won't stop them, but they also won't care about their concerns/limitations because it's not their target audience.

If you have too much RL to play those events then that's on you. GGG doesn't care.
You can ask any standard player on how many fucks GGG gives about players/game modes that aren't relevant to them. Map tab management in standard is pure cancer even after all those years because it's not important to fix that.

The game is designed for and aimed at no lifers and streamers. Normal people stumbling in by accident are irrelevant.
I like the one week events. It makes it feel like I can try new build ideas I would never do in a three month league.

I guess I'm gonna do it a bit different this time, just gonna practise my league start idea on the next event.

The game is just about farming 24/7 without a job, family or anything like that, right?
And the whole thing for a pack of super cheap, chemical-flavored noodles on the weekend?
The whole concept doesn't work everywhere because people in the EU earn more than 1 euro per hour.
bcs they are think -50exp & a week is cool!

aren't you thankful!?

i Just don't play :D

You seem genuinely unhappy to play this game. Why are you still here?

1 week is enought to take even 95+ lvl, what are u talking about. I have work 5\7. And it takes for me about 3-4 days to take 90+ lvl

true, got even a flicker build to lv 88 with 2 paradise included.

Its only based on the build you use vs how good you now it or the game.On the other hand the economy is mostly bad in a event.

Poe is like a puzzle game,if you know the pieces you need the better you get.

Everyone needs to look at these events from a business perspective rather than assuming that GGG has the motivation to make the events epic. Think of how GGG gets most of their revenue and that is in the first few weeks of every league so they have every incentive to hype the heck of the new league and the events are really just to appease a few fan boys from playing competing games.

I'm not saying having events is bad, it just is what it is. Honestly for me the only two events I found any value in were Endless Delve and Heist. By playing these I got better at the mechanics and every league I do some of each even if mapping is my preferred gameplay.
hoho chemical-flavored noodles where did that come from.

2 week would have been nice though.

I wish this event was longer, but it's just not meant to be for casuals.

Some people farmed up to, if not more, 1k+ recombinators... of each type already. This event was made for them. Not for casual andies (such as myself) that are happy if they get 20-30 recombinators.. if even that.
