I'm usually not all that bothered by challenges, but I'll try to finish a few more if I end up getting a fair amount just by playing, and more if I like the league.
I ended up getting the last one done this morning, with 39 done yesterday. Had been sitting at 38 for a while as I ended up playing a lot this league. Had a great time even though I didn't find the league mechanic all that exciting. The tattoos were a great addition in my opinion. Hope we get them back eventually. As for the challenges, most were ok. There's always a few that I find a bit superfluous, usually the vendor recipe ones for common items that aren't even that beneficial. Like would anyone do the hybrid flask or the onyx amulet recipes when you can get them much easier otherwise? How about the chisel one from a previous league? The ones that irk me the most (and this is certainly a me problem) are the conditional boss ones. I usually don't even go for these unless I end up completing a few "accidentally". Consequently, the 2 challenges I hadn't completed before yesterday were Maestro Mastery and Predicated Pinnacle Powers. I'll admit that I'm not mechanically skilled, and since I'm an older player, my reflexes, eye-hand coordination and reaction times are not what they used to be. I also don't really like boss fights in general, and usually only do the minimum required and can't be bothered to practice them, so I end up not really knowing the fights all that well. I nearly quit a few times out of frustration, but I still persevered, managed to not pull out my hair and smash my monitor (came close though), and got them done. Even though 40/40 is a breeze for some, I am actually quite satisfied at the moment, as these last two challenges were in fact, genuinely challenging for me. |
