is this kind of PoE trading everyday thing?
come to think of it, I have an idea for new trading interface:
no human interaction needed, seller just post their items in trade with desired duration(2hrs-2days), all prospect buyers just offer away on the item(offer price will be locked-in during posting) seller can accept an offer anytime or let it expire, either case all bids except the winning one will be refunded to bidders. GGG can also add QoL stuff like b/o option as well.
If you want to haggle, you can try, "Hello would you consider an offer of xxxx for yyyy?" Don't copy paste the exact trade message from the website because then the seller would expect to sell the item for the listed price.
Your offer should be in the ballpark. Don't offer 10c for a item listed at 100c. You might get ignored or you might get a counteroffer. 8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

" This is genius, why has nobody thought of something like this before??? |

yep. pretty normal. most times ill just ignore someone trying to work me down on an under 10c sell. Its not worth it to me to be distracted/stop what im doing.
If im not too busy to care, I might offer you a riddle as well, I have nothing to lose, you are asking me to do you a favor or cut you a break... you can play my games If its late league and im in a good mood and not busy ill often just give the item away and a handful of other crap that I dont want or care about. Eventually youll find that its easier to just get the asking price and buy it outright. that is what most people want and it will have the fewest annoying interactions.
" It cannot work for several reasons.....the seller and the buyer must be online "after desired duration", the buyer cannot change his mind if the price changes, etc. In addition, trade and flipping in the first days and weeks of the league is based only on sales velocity.

" This is simply not true. PoE in China has an auction house among countless other benefits western GGG players have been begging for, for years. People list items and they're stored on the server for a pre-determined price. No human interaction required. No Haggling unless done through normal trade means. This allows you to instantly buy from a massive selection at varied prices and it's on the players to be competitive because of the abundance. No need to be online, no need to worry about refunds. The whole issue about additional server hosting may not even be a concern as the hundreds of millions of stash tabs of shit is already stored server side anyway. I get that GGG would rather shut down their servers than give us the same QoL. It is a shame people in China get so many additional QoL features simply for being from a different part of the world though. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

@PathToGod
People you met are looking for someone who is willing to give the item they want, not really willing to give you the item you want. So in theory they are either trolling you by posting items on the WTS section or they just don't want to pay transaction fees. Quite ironic, since the list of successful trades is a lot longer.
You just don't want to list those for some reason.
Anyway, the trading here has never been worse in my time in PoE. Today I must have asked like 100 ppl to trade (no discount or bs), and maybe 3-4 has actually taking time to sell me what I asked.
We are all busy in Hall of dead I guess. The problem is the ancient traidingsystem GGG runs, we shouldnt have to disturp others if we want their stuff. But surely this has been mentioned many time before.. |
