I had to quit the league, and you should quit too probably
Now, before anything, this is not trying to be an inflammatory post. We have enough of those and they always go nowhere.
As most know the game currently has some very bad performance issues which have rendered the game basically unplayable for me, with those 1-2 min loading screens, the CPU melting spikes and just random crashes and errors. I truly wonder who at GGG considered dropping a graphical update patch so close to a league start and wihtout prior testing was a good idea. Let's put some emphasis here, it's not that I don't want to play the game cause "league mechanic bad" (which I kinda agree with but that's another topic altogether), it's that I actually cannot play, and as it has been told many times already no, it is not "hardware issue bro upgrade hardware". Not only I have recently upgraded my specs after playing PoE a with 750ti and a i5 ever since Domination up to Crucible and running just fine but also higher spec users have reported issues and GGG has aknowledged said issues. It's as simple as that. Even if they were to release a fix today I would not come back, my enthusiasm is just gone after 10 attempts at doing uber lab and crashing, that's how little I've been able to progress. When I think about the fact that these issues have lasted basically a month now and most of GGG's staff is currently completely devoted to PoE 2 it makes me feel frustrated that they cannot bring themselves to dedicate their full team for at least a week to address critical problemas like this. And then I remember, it's just a game, and if I cannot play and there's nothing I can do about it then I should not be getting so upset about it, even if it's my right to do so because let's be honest here, this is not proper handling of the game. I will simply look for another game to play that actually has good optimization, and I will also remember to not spend money on the game ever again until it runs like the softest butter in the galaxy. But anyway, that was the rant. tl;dr if you can't play due to performance issues or you just hate the league then close the game and go play something that actually makes you happy. Make that player count go down for good until next league. PoE doesn't deserve your mood getting ruined for Last bumped on Sep 2, 2023, 8:15:31 PM

Not having any issues at all with the league or the game so it sounds like a you problem tbh. Not sure why others should quit just cause you got some issues on your side with your decade old toaster setup lol
I'm not heavily invented in the league yet cause it's hard to play two games at the same time with friends asides from work and also outdoor fun cause it's freaking summer. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid on Aug 27, 2023, 2:47:45 AM

Game was working perfectly until couple of days before league now all of a sudden 60-80% of textures disappear from maps randomly like I literally play a 16bit game sometimes which absolutely sucks donkey because I die to invisible effects martyrdom or whatever the fuck those exploding ball are.
Also for people saying the issue is at OP, I will be as kind as possible so my post does not get removed. Take your opinion, carefully fold it as small as you can and do what you know best with it. Second-class poe gamer

" For you and some others sure, for me and some others there is very little change from normal service. The only thing that really changed for me was my GPU was a little noisier and textures didn't load in delve, after manually deleting the content of the shader caches that was fixed and a little time playing fixed the resulting stuttering from the shaders being recreated. I have not had any problem with load times which are a few seconds at most Not crashed once, not had crazy temp spikes or any of the rest of the problems some people seem to get. And tbh "performance" is always an issues for some people, like literally every single patch no matter what it dose will have someone posting about how it broke the game for them...even when that patch was to DL some image files for offers/supporter packs. If anything you should let people here burn their gpu at this point.. they have plenty of money on the bank to support a game in the current state on top of defending terrible performance patches painted as "upgrades"
Every performance issue patch this game had I always said the same: "dont play if you can't replace your hardware" No company ever replaced other peoples hardware because their faulty patches and coding.. why it should be any different here? "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

I haven't even started the league, after all the news and overall conclusions post ExileCon.
PoE1 is clearly going to be an abandoned game, used as a testing platform for PoE 2. PoE1 is never gonna climb in the QA department, and PoE1 is far from being better (gameplay and game mechanics wise) as the release of PoE2 is approaching. I made the decision to quit PoE1 altogether and wait it out until PoE 2 is out. If it turns out to be 2+ year "hiatus", let it be.. But to tell the truth, I really enjoy the no-stress and no sense of urgency which weak 1-2 of PoE league brings to my life. Bugs, divines per hour, bad trading, scraping for resources, sleep deprivation, you name it.. Thanks Kuduku! :D Playing DivinityII now, started BG3.. super slow and chill. Don't remember when was the last time I had so much positives from a videogaming in general in my life. | |
" I definitely had issues with that first patch, since then, the updates that they have done have made the game smooth again ( I also added 32GB more ram to my rig which has helped the sound quality a lot). ~ Adapt, Improvise and Overcome
