what kind of build do ggg use for play/balance testing

im really wondering what kind of builds ggg use tho play test there own game. im guessing a 400+ div build, cause the game is so unbalanced against regular

I doubt they test for balance at all tbh.

For one, they don't care about actual game balance, their idea is to just switch things around every now and then to keep things "fresh", constant change instead of lasting "balance".
Second, they love their player rip statistics, the number on that statistic can't be high enough for them so the more people die the happier they are. Testing stuff and smoothing out the experience would just lower the number, can't have that.

Judging by how it is easier to kill 10 uber bosses in row than one white monster in ToTa at high elo, they either test it on 8mirror melee build (proxy shields mean they did not play ranged at all, because monsters ignore dodge chance so you gotta mitigate the dmg while being inside bubble)

Monsters also offscreen and have invisible attacks, i think the animations start outside of your screen and then it does not render at all, so u go from 100% hp to 0% with 0 visuals.

Or they do not test it much at all. Monsters also invalidate many builds by how they are seemingly immune to chill and other effects. If you relly on cc with your surviability you gonna get 1shot even from 500rating up while being able to do uber bosses and red fractured t16maps just fine.

I mean if the league got properly tested, we probably would not have so many dupe methods and things like knockback needing emergency patch to nerf it.



I still love the mechanic tho and spend over 20hours in it, got total of 7div orbs so it is bad farming strat(and 6 of them after the reward improvement patch)

And i actually enjoy that it is so hard, i just wish they kept the monster dmg while reducing their hp a bit, to be 10x more tanky than uber pinnacle bosses is a bit too much

What is it that you wish were more balanced? The most that want things more balanced are taking about something else than how the game works.

I am playing Football Manager and when we succeed with Halifax in FA Cup and has been drawn against Manchester City - the last thing I want a balanced game vs them. I am in my tier 4 (or where they play, just an example) and the teams there are more or less as strong as my team. If we are promoted to tier 3 it will be harder, I need to do better with my team.

Same here I think. Some opponents are stronger, other are not. If someone struggling, then make your team better, at least try - there is no guarantees.

If talking balanced as class X with skill Y is so much more powerfull than class Z with skill m - and it is as the above. Choose, make it easy or hard or what you need and want.

But yes, we don't want to get one shotted were we shouldnt, but it can happen - maybe not in hardcore because that sucks. In a football game, my team can lose 8-1, we performed crap. At least I don't get sacked (in here killed) only because of that.

I think, be more specific what is unbalanced (iyo) and how do you wished it to be? It is hard to just answer "it is not unbalanced and the devs surely test whats needed". Then neither we or the devs will understand.

But is it unbalanced and a problem because of that? I think like a linear curve when people talked balanced. But that is a perfect scaling and evenmore balanced and perfect is if the scaling was compared, not only level but also gear. Then it would be like fighting the first mob in eternal.

If some takes longer time and so or if some are more dangerous, then (imo) balancing is about not letting them spawn five in each map, but 0,76 or what number would be both surprising, a bit annoying but doable and at same not to easy from the map basics.

A sandspitter vs roah where both are normal with same lvel has some different hp and damage.

I don't see the issue, but not felt it either so could be that. But can't really understand it in text either. The problem (imo) would be more like something you cant even see and then just die were you shouldnt. If if there is none (few at least) shouldn't.
Almost seems like it's geared towards the 1% this time.

I don't agree at all. The only thing is that you got used to something while I havnt - and probably would not even if played a long time. What (from my view) makes PoE "unique" is the freedom that you can play it in the way you want. There is no class limitations and other (unnessecery) forcings. And you need to think and have some plan to succeed (even if you can make it easier in that way to by follow a guide or so, and thats good).

I am also a part of the community and you view is not worth more than mine or someone else. And you can talk for you, not for me or other at the community.

Is it possible to kill the mobs faster than you do, while talking about the ones took a bit longer time. If, then that person may get a worse experience (or better, but it hasnt be as for you). If no one is faster than you I think that is good enough. I would understand more of that if you felt a big part of the mobs were in that way. (I didnt get that feeling you did.)

A bit varianion and freedom is imo only positive. You want easier mobs, you for sure will find them. That is what I mean and talking about. But I do understand that we all want to push futher in the game (and try new things). But it has to be differences in hardness. I can't see it any other way. The last I mean, when thinking of a changeyou need to consider more than, would this benefit me. Whats the downside - because there always is whatever you change or do. A lot is not easy to answer though - and out feeling is easy to "follow".
