Poe 2 Thoughts.

if i do keep playing it will only be in PoE1 and the wallet is definitely closed until a unified endgame is presented.

Color me stoked that PoE2 is unhooked from PoE1.

Also color me a dedicated ship-jumper. The moment POE2 is available I'm not sure I'll ever go back to 1. Every last single piece of information I'm hearing outside of one detail has elicited nothing but joy (y'know, other than the shitty beta date).

Slower, more thoughtful and engaging combat? Yes please.

A focus on innate mobility baked into overall skill usage rather than hyperfocus on "movement skills"? Yes please.

Almost no damage on support gems, and instead they're there to modify the skill, add new properties, and change its mechanical behavior? Yes please.

All that fucking good shit with twelve classes, six of them brand-ass new, and thirty-six Ascendancies? Yes please.

The strong possibility of in-engine cutscenes and stronger storytelling? Yes please.

A completely new skill tree, with the ability to run dual specs and smoothly shift your focus from moment to moment? Yes please.

Deterministic socket crafting/enhancement, no more spamming thousands of currency items to get your gorram sockets sorted? Dear fucking GOD yes please.

All weapon/attack-based skills being strictly limited to their native weapon type? Okay, that kinda sucks, I can see why it's necessary given the slick new animation system but I was looking forward to mixing skill archetypes more freely than that.

But yeah. Thus far, overall? An absolutely incredible new dawn for Path of Exile. Shed the husk of the tired old man that is Path of Exile the First, and embrace the novahotness that is Path of Exile the Second. Honor the grandfather for what he did, the strides he made to put Grinding Gear in a position to make PoE2 possible...but it's time for the young, vibrant new daughter to shine.

since they first mentioned they would be keeping poe1 and poe2 passive trees in the same game etc i have been meaning to make a feedback post begging them not to do that. in the end couldnt be bothered to post it but its been existing in my head.

why hold down the possibilities of poe2 by having to pass it through the 'does this break the poe1 passive tree characters?' filter? balancing the game so that you want to play poe2 characters but poe1 characters are still viable would be impossible and in the end what would happen is they would be forced make poe1 characters underpowered. it was just gonna be a shitshow imo.


i was hoping they got rid of the poe1 tree, forced everyone onto the poe2 tree and then gave us a way to get the old ascendancies in the endgame to swap to if we wanted them.


but... ok, they decided they wanted to completely change so many systems that its just fundamentally incompatible with old gear etc. fine, its not what my ideal situation would have been but looking at it now? yeah, yeah i dig it.


im gonna go self found for poe2, not gonna get into trading like i did in poe1. all the mirrors and stockpiles of mirrored gear and bullshit ive got stashed that invalidates all my drops, lets leave it behind and never go there again. just keep the whole thing self drops only, keep it fun, no hours upon hours of trading and crafting and flipping to get all this big swagger bank etc, fk all that. back to the actual game.


poe2 is yes. looks amazing. they absolutely bodied diablo 4, it doesnt even look remotely competitive with poe2.

POE 1 = yes
POE 2 = no

no joke, it looks so bad...

poe literally made the step out of diablos shadow and is now the better game id say but looking at poe2 they putting themself back there.

they try so hard to not be poe or be different that its actually cringe.

poe 1 is so unique in terms of builds and gameplay which made it so popular but poe 2 looks like a bad diablo clone...

actually incomprehensible for me...
i hope these poe2 mobs in league mechanic are not representative of visual clarity in poe2... because they instantly kill u with 0 visual indicators, no ground effect, no animation, they also offscreen by 1.5 of screen.


There is just me on screen and then i drop down dead randomly.
It is probably related to the performance issues people have. the animations probably just do not play (and yes my totem is alive and i respawn, i know u drop dead if they kill ur totem)
