My advice to new players.

Don't start playing PoE unless you have no live and are ok with reading through dozens of wiki pages to understand the game mechanics.

That would also be a good advice for new players. |

Ruthless for new players is a sound advice because it'll shorten the length of time required for them to decide if gambling with extra longer windup time is worth their time or not.
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].

" nooooooo you can't have fun in this game especially not in the harder modes and especially especially not as a 'newer' player! This game is supposed to be impossible to pick up play and enjoy!! |

" I get the whole Funny Meme thing, and to an extent yeah I can concur. But to the Average PoE Player, beating A10 Kitava is a serious achievement. When the entire literal endgame is "Aspirational Content" that players are supposed to wistfully watch streamers do for them, doesn't it feel like maybe something's broken somewhere? She/Her

" I would posit that the broken part is watching the streamers. |

Lots of healthy assuming going on in this thread lets see how it goes. Also, who asked?

For the likes of this filthy casual, any content that requires gear I have to trade for is beyond aspirational. So, yeah, I know my limits, more or less, and it doesn't bother me that I'll likely never face any of the "end-game" bosses. I had my fun in the campaign, and use maps to farm for higher tier gear and crafting currency. =^[.]^=

" I added it at the end: "TLDR: Start playing Path of Exile on your own, but be prepared for a progression wall. Follow beginner build guides like Enki's Arc Witch or Zizaran's on YouTube for assistance. Engage with helpful players in forums or chat, but be cautious of trolls(global chat especially). If you're short on time, play on the Standard server. Consider trying Ruthless mode for a less overwhelming experience with fewer mechanics, though it's harder to play. There's no wrong way to enjoy the game, so have fun your way. Microtransactions are mainly cosmetic, and $40 can buy you enough stash tabs for a lifetime. Updates with new content arrive every three months. Avoid negative Reddit discussions if they affect your enjoyment. A sequel to the game is expected next year, with a beta release date announcement on July 29th at their official Twitch and YouTube channels(Exile-con, like Blizzcon but for PoE)." |
