I asked what in their history, not conjecture though... OW1 and HOTS were both free to play live service games with regular updates. They were even making money too! But not ENOUGH money for the cavernous maw of the investors. Thus, scrapped. DIV fans better pony up another couple hundred on battle passes if they want substantive content updates and improvements.
