Hey I asked you on youtube to help me with TPB's cold dot.
So here's my pob https://poe.ninja/pob/ifN .
I'm more of a mapping guy than bossing, is there a way to make this build more mapping oriented ? What should I focus on to deal more damage ?
And Also I'm a new player so I'm not sure of what I can run with this build.
I like delirium and legion, do you think I would be able to run delirium orbs 40% / 60% ?

agree with OP here. we did extensive research on alternatives to cowards legacy. we had the same conclusion as you, which was that MB allowed for better QOL in terms of not needing to pianoflask. but overall no large changes. and considering the price of MB, the value was not there for me, hence I did not recommend it.

regarding soul gain affixes, I also extensively tested a couple of affixes (using the triumvirate rings) and some other unique amulets/rings. I was running both VRF and VCS, and thought of investing more into soul gain for a better uptime on VCS. generally, not worth/not good value, as there are mechanics in the game to prevent abuse of a significantly higher uptime of vaal skills, and the dps/QOL/mapping speed lost made it counter productive.

my suggestion is to follow what i did in the previous league, using death rush ring. it makes the mapping experience significantly faster. you can watch the 2 videos from 3.21 where i was running 80% deli. this was at a stage where my theoretical dps was around 40-80m. (it hit 100m by end of league).

IMO TPB's Cold DoT guide is a basic guide that provides a lot of explanations for early game and hence is very helpful for beginners. However, it is not optimized because he himself doesn't even play Cold DoT that much.

Mapping oriented would be to respec to the Devouring Diadem set-up in this guide. At this stage you should probably farm a Devouring Diadem before switching over.

Meanwhile, some quick fixes that can be done:

1. You need to keep molten shell at lvl 10 otherwise CWDT will not proc it. Fixing this will provide a decent defense boost.
2. Switch one of your utility flask suffixes to reduced curse effect, atm there is 2 evasion 2 armour and they don't stack.
3. Switch your cobalt jewel to one with 7% max life, 8% cdot multiplier
4. Buy lvl 21 Vaal Cold Snap
5. Purchase Dove Tattoo to cover your low chaos resistances (replace INT nodes)
6. Consider the Death's Rush suggestion by SOK, but considering 3 seconds on kill is 1.4d, perhaps you should acquire Devouring Diadem and respec first.
