Is there any way to make POE brighter without adjusting TV brightness?

Yeah and I'm sure that's fine if you only play PoE. But when doing that throws every other game out of whack...oh well. Your fault for not just playing PoE I guess.

Also, I love how this has become, yet again, a user shortcoming rather than something the devs should address when every other game on god's green earth has a brightness slider built in.

GGG really did a masterful job convincing Exiles anything wrong with the game was their problem to solve, didn't they? Trade? Player-fixed. Build complexity? Player-fixed. Item overload on screen? Player-fixed. Insufficient party options in game? Player-fixed. Game needs a mirror service cartel? Player...fixed.

Amazing.

Naw, what's amazing is trying to suggest that adjusting your monitor for PoE will somehow make everything else look worse. I've gone through 3 wildly different monitors since I started PoE, never once had an issue that required some obscure settings just for PoE.

Yall have such hate-ragers for PoE it's insane. Look at how fast you cling to suddenly some new problem that's immediately somehow GGG's fault. If only our monitors came with their own Brightness / Contrast / Saturation / Color calibration!
Bully for you, Exile. One day you will be where I am, albeit nowhere near as convicted because you have given far less to the cause that you will have lost.

But for now...I repeat: bully for you. ^_^

...I'm still right about the rest.

I tried Ruthless real quickly and was annoyed....

I am amazed! I haven't even tried it yet. And yes My old eyes can't see shit while playing, either because it's way too dark (a feature!!! lol) or way to filled with flashing effects. Neither effect increases the fun aspect of the game.

Eh, it was between chapters.

Look, you might really like it. I'm pretty sure my reaction was because I have come to dislike so much of the core game and its fundamentals. It was impossible for me to see Ruthless as anything but 'Path of Exile: Snack Edition'. Everything was the same, just bite-sized rather than a huge pot of all the shit all at once poured directly down one's throat.

If your main contention with PoE 'standard' is that you like the components but not the overall assembly of them, Ruthless is almost certainly going to do it for you.

What I like best about standard is not having to level. I have a stable of about 6 pretty complete characters at level 90+ that I can use to play my favorite content whenever I want. Since they are all melee, most are nerfed and I have to regularly rebuild and re-equip them. That is more fun than leveling. I like having a big stash of pretty good equipment. This league I got to upgrade my Disfavors, Kingmakers, Soul Takers, and The Savior and try them out. I am not a grinder and doing the same map more than 3-4 times in a row is very boring.

I am thinking that Ruthless will a worse grind than regular leveling. I might try to get through Act 1, though. Maybe grind for OG? That is the only grind I enjoy.

OG be NO GO in R.

Which makes sense, since it's supposed to be a lot more down to found gear.

in amd at least i finnaly solved the prob, if you add the game to your amd control center, you can adjust the setting for poe only, because i also had some prob where poe look way better with different setting while other game also need some other setting to look nice. as i dont want switch my monitors parameters for every game, i adjusted my monitor for windows, then if a game (like poe or other) need some adjustment i can set different setting like luminosity etc from the amd control center itself for the specified game (go game->select your game or add it if not present -> right on the panel there is a screen section -> if you have multiple monitor, select the appropriate one (you can see wich one is your main from windows detect) -> enable personalized color and temp control color -> adjust luminosity/contrast etc until you are okay with the rendering on the game. Enjoy !

Sanctum is literally too dark for me to see half the enemies. I don't have many options on console to control brightness or color, so I'm kinda at a loss on what to do. I'd rather not mess with my TV settings if I can avoid it.

no sarcasm, but did you try to play around with bloom effect if your setup can support it? it a setting for more enviromental lights
