Feels a lot like the entirety of this post is, "We have so much bloat in this game, the only solution we could think of was AN, so we're going to continue to triple down on this. Look at this one guy who dropped 50 divines in a single go! It's great design!"
Ultimately, they have no clue how to reign in the bloat they've created, and their solution was a poorly conceived rare monster "buff". Reworked now means nerfed. The internal QA teams are clearly measuring the wrong things - otherwise SOMEONE would have noticed this. |

While you are making hardmode can you also make a fun mode? would be lovely

If you really read and care about feedback, here's mine.
I like mapping. I don't MF, I simply don't like that playstyle. I also don't do heist, again, because I simply don't like it. What's left for me, is t14-16 maps, atlas + scarabs + sextants, rolling for good quant and corrupting. A steady and solid influx of currency is what I'm after. A from time to time burst of currency is nice of course, such as pure big drops, but not mandatory. I can just liquidate the masses of currency I get when it piles up. To this point, I've had a couple divine drops since start, been playing a decent amount. The problem is, that a couple divines don't save the situation, when there's no other currency piling up to actually swap into chaos and then, when needed, divines. Meaning, that, for me and players like me, who do not MF or group farm, but simply set their atlas up, prepare their preferred maps, farm up and buy scarabs and sextants, to then run them as their own juiced content, is miserably unprofitable, unless you hit the big AN combos, which, of course, is unreliable, and I haven't even seen one yet, OR my rarity is not at the point where those mobs drop masses of currency. Which again, forces the MF playstyle, which I dislike. There's actually very few 'HOLY S*IT' mass drop moments. As some of them are interesting combinations, but all in all, worthless. A bunch of unique jewels is very nice, but of course, they're all useless 1 alchs. And other combinations, like fractured t1-7 maps or whatever. Knowing that I simply have to grind until I actually hit a "WOW" monster that is supposed to then improve my morale to continue the grind and find the next one just like it or better, pushes me away from the game. Because I feel like even if I find that monster, that will drop me a few divines at once, so what? The overall profit I could've made just from bubblegum currency, plus the occasional pure big hits, would be much better than this unicorn I'm supposed to be chasing. And no, I am not comparing to sentinel. It was completely busted and made the financial side of the game trivial. I have no incentive to continue farming completely empty, currency wise, red maps, that net me a few chaos each, while 'chasing the unicorn', that isn't even going to be that good for me, since I am not juicing rarity. I will be honest about why I am even still playing - wanted to try out sunder, also new to berserker. New stuff and all that. But this empty, unrewarding, demoralizing and disrespectful to my time, grind, is not why I play Path Of Exile. This game, to me, is... every map is a lawn, and I'm the lawnmower. When I come through, the grass (bubblegum currency and whatnot) comes out. I then go back to collect what I need/want, and leave, to then repeat this process over and over. THAT is a satisfying, rewarding, and fun grind. THAT is what I loved about Path Of Exile, when I started playing it. You give us the occasional challenging monster in the map, in the form of AN rares? If they're not hypertank, oneshotting, busted leviathans, like they are now, I am not just onboard, I'll row! I'd imagine them more like the rogue exiles, creative, trapping and kiting b*stards, slowing and slamming for big damage, or walling and casting on top of you. Sort of a 'pvp' encounter, if you will. Right now they're just.. No. To finish off this massive reply, I also have this to add - I only play melee, imagine how you guys make me feel, after I grind myself through the 'lovely' gameplay of this archetype, and then get hit in the gut by this... situation. If this doesn't change, and I'll still be forced to chase the unicorn through empty maps, losing currency along the way, where I should be gaining it, I will not play Path Of Exile anymore, not this league, not the next, not PoE2. There has to be fun, reward and good balance for different grinding strategies, and character archetypes. Pardon the long reply, but no TLDR here, want to read it - do so, if not - don't. |

" nononon this has been happening since 3.14. No one remembers the stealth nerf, the map mod changes, the stealth monster buffs. You don't remember baron packs with 200000 monsters that were worse than AN mobs and one shot you from 200 screens away? ever since they started paying non league players to stream and boost their numbers they thought they could get away with anything. and that technically started in 3.13 which while being an ok league also had a bad launch. people in this game can't remember pass 2 leagues ago which is why they're ok when they give 1% buff to loot and nerfing monsters after they've been nerfing us by 200% every league and buffing monsters by the same. |

Is it just me or do ardent defenders of the recent changes not realize something, as in Chris over the years has specifically repeated multiple times that he appreciates the feedback, negative OR positive, and wants to make sure that we enjoy the game he has brought to life?
Where did THAT philosophy/approach go? Now, I understand the need for constant balance and introducing changes. I've played WoW from 2008 up to mid-2021. I've been through this many, many, many times. I know the cycle. But nerfs to the ground or below the ground like this in one fell swoop? Uhm, no. Even on WoW, the devs NEVER tripled/quadrupled/quintupled like this. They admitted to the mistakes (which Chris has done, thank you much appreciated, but doing so several times/leagues in a row becomes repetitive and erodes all sense of reliability/trust - on top of proving that they don't really learn), fully or partially reverted the problematic changes (fixes are being done, and I commend the devs for that, but they are not enough for now), then strived to yield better results. Listening to what 60%+ of the community AND the majority of their streamers ACTUALLY AGREE upon (something that is rarely seen) is not CAVING in - it's working in tandem to make sure a product thrives and its loyal community is both happy and helpful. Ignoring the feedback and not pre-testing was a kick in the teeth we can still feel right now. I love Path of Exile. I found it when I was looking at a game similar to D2/D3, introduced by husband to it. Life has kept us busy these past 4 years as our family was founded and has grown. But coming from Ritual/Expedition (can't remember which one came last) to this has felt like someone drove us to a cliff and threw us off with no care in the world or any tool to survive the plunge. It has gotten better little by little with each patch but it is my belief we are still a bit far from a good median, especially where loot drops, harvest (what has been culled that should not, if only to alleviate the difficulty curve) and especially Archnemesis. The one-shots out of nowhere, or unavoidable mobs predatorily chasing you down and murdering you no matter your defenses and attempts to run away/avoid them... They should not be happening as often as they do. We, as a community, can adjust to changes over time. But driving the bus straight up in a concrete wall at 15000000 mph is going to leave devastation in its wake, as proven. I honestly hope we can move forward peacefully and reach a good median to ensure PoE remains a fantastic game. I want to regain my trust in you and your words to regain value in my eyes. For all the fun that has been made out of Blizzard for their poor choices, please realize it looks like GGG may be heading the same way...and no one wants that.
