It is possible that another reason for black bars was their outdated UI. On ultrawide, distance between your health and mana orbs at the corners becomes truly comical. Of course you don't need that UI in endgame when your recovery loop is established, but imagine how it would look for new players :)
And rewriting UI to be centered may be a challenge because of their self-coded engine, who knows how it was implemented in there. |
