At this point it would be easier to just run with Megalomaniac with Unspeakable Gifts and hopefully another good node. That I may have been doing this whole time.
I really doubt that 10% chance will be worth it. I'm just going to accept that we don't have the explosions in 3.27 and look forward to having them back in 3.28.

Looking at the numbers, Purity of Elements + Zealotry + Aspect of the Spider + Blasphemy (no Clarity) with lvl4 Enlighten and 40% mana reservation efficiency would reserve 100.5% of your max mana.
You can get it just below 100% with Awakened Blasphemy, but not enough for Clarity and manapool you want too have left to cast Icestorm.
You would need either
lvl5 Enlighten
8% mana reservation efficiency node just below Chaos Inoculation. (requires 2 passive points)
Anoint Charisma. (requires 4 passive points to get Whispers of DOOM)
Use small cluster jewel with Added Small Passive Skills grant: 6% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency of Skills (requires another jewel socket and couple passive points)

Okay, math time. T16 blue mobs have what, about 400k life? On the average, the additional damage is 25% * 10% = 2.5% of that, or 10000 damage LOL.
Yeah. I dumped my 15% jewel 24 hours ago and the only thing I regret is losing the 10 Div difference between what I paid and what it sold for. And also I guess not having the Flame/Flesh pair a day and a half earlier.

You are cheating with reserving life instead of mana.
Okay, math time. T16 blue mobs have what, about 400k life? On the average, the additional damage is 25% * 10% = 2.5% of that, or 10000 damage LOL.
Now multiply it by how many enemies it hits.
Its not really how much damage it does, but that it finishes off all the other trash. Nice when doing something like abyss or expedition. Doesn't really help with bosses.

I was comparing the 10k explosion to one icestorm hit of what is it 300k?

It is noticeable when whole pack goes poof at the same time. Weather it is actually helpful or just placebo effect, I cant really tell. But I like to see it.
I think Kelvynn is against this small chance to blow them up as it practically only kills that pack, it doesn´t really spread to everything else around them. I remember Profane Bloom blowing up everything around you (maybe not rares) that were within Blasphemy range. And it doesn't help against pinnacle bosses.
I would say using it is much about trading offensive power to QoL.
