I think either monk or mercenary is good for this, esp gembling legionnaire provide double to stats bonuses

The stat bonus for Int is 2 mana per 1 Int and 1% Increased ES per 5 Int. So it's just a little more ES and mana, but not Int itself or damage.

it doesnt give ES aneymore, just mana https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Intelligence

and ofc welcome back !

Hey guys!

It's time for a new PoE league (3.26)! Haha, just kidding. Instead of the next league, GGG gives us a new treat - a chance to play PoE 2. WOOT!!

Of course, I'm going to be in the Early Access, although not from day 1 and with a bit limited play time. December is always a busy time of the year for me.

I've looked at the classes available in Early Access, and so far the closest thing to our PoE 1 build seems to be the Monk. He has block, CI and ES leech. Just need to see what The Whispering Ice 2.0 looks like. GGG promised that all uniques from PoE 1 will be in PoE 2. And this staff was shown in one of the very first PoE 2 teasers back in 2019 when they talked about how the support gems will work in the new game.

We'll see how everything works out.

well Monk leech mana=es but mana leech only available for "attack" while our icestorm is spell...so only if they add some uniques to leech mana by spells or directly leech ES by spell )
I'm heavily contemplating focusing on a Sorceress first.
If Icestorm is in, and stacking plays a role, then depending on how bursty it is, we can add cooldown to it, then play Chronomancer to play around this self-imposed limitation. If is not that heavy hitting and more spreadable around (who knows if there is a 4 limit again), then the elemental tree could help out, we can chill, ignite, shock and maybe even set all of that off by discharge supports. And if ice storm is not in...Well, then I'll settle for anything that freezes half the screen somehow :P
well it's if still icestorm in game...and they can redesign it...like no spam, with cd etc xD

Same here. I'll probably start as a Sorceress first to get a feeling how ice caster works. This build is a caster after all. And once we see what they did with WI in PoE 2 - then it will be easier to see what can work with it.
Sooo no ghost reaver also or any energy leech in passive tree...bad...really seems dev fav melee/attacks tag.cause no leech for ES or mana to spells
Actually, Blood Mage seems to be pretty similar to what we like doing here. Just a life-based version instead of CI. I might try this.
I'm also thinking of going with a Blood Mage Witch. I think some of the guys over at Maxxroll are going to make some builds around it. Hopefully we can eventually come back to the Dancing Queen though. Thanks for looking into it Kelvynn.
So I started on PoE 2 last night after the servers became more stable. Witch with cold spells (Frost Bomb, Frostbolt, Cold Snap). It would be exactly the same for the Sorceress, but I want to go Blood Mage. Pathing up through all the Spell Damage and stat nodes (had to take one as Dex and one as Str to be able to use some items) towards the big cold cluster at the top. Got there and grabbed +1 Level to Cold Skills just in time for the Act 1 boss.

Oh boy, did they overdo that boss or what? So many phases with different mechanics! And if he catches you - you are dead. More of Dark Souls than Path of Exile really. I guess that's the impression GGG are trying to make with PoE 2 bosses.

New video: PoE 2 Act 1 Boss
currently playing ice sorc and have to say teamplay is a lot more fun than poe1.

minions seem to be garbage again, monk is a stunlockbeast that makes every boss trivial and teambuffs are really necessary.

still havent found whispering ice though and for some reason the trial of ascendancy are just imposible. no idea how to beat them. we didnt even manage to do them when overleveled.
