Really enjoying this build, thanks for it. I've played spiders quite a bit in the past and while I can't really compare because of league changes, this is probably the best version.
I did things a bit differently on my lower budget version. I gave up Enduring bond for Combat stamina with the determination node. I tired crafting a better amulet with recombinator but that was more or less an expensive failure. lol. Definitely not great gear but the build works well enough. I'll plan on conforming to the build in this guide once I have a little more currency. But anyway, been a fun character so far.
Oh yeah, personal preference, but I don't like the cyclone-cwc-offering, the constant noise kind of bugs me, so I prefer self-cast. On bosses, I use hydrosphere and avoid cyclone'ing the primary target. I lose the benefit of the shield generally but damage and survivability are ok anyway.
One thing I don't know, is if the taunt on hit for the minions works or if it is worthwhile.

Does not work, if you check the raise spider skill in your character tab it outright says "Minions cannot taunt with hits".
This used to not be the case, a long time ago phase run was broken and would make you absolutely completely invisible to mobs, combine this with arakaali fang raise spiders who can't be targeted and can't take damage, making them taunt would just make bosses' brains break and just stand still and die while our spiders hit them while we were invisible so we couldn't be targeted either
That's why it got patched.
And yeah, I'm more of a fan of selfcasting aswell! If you don't use a cwc setup, just use another skill that you can hit with from further away to keep frenzy charges up :p

Thanks for the guide - it's really well put together! Finally got mageblood so going to try out your version of the build.
For the gloves, you say that gravebind is bait and rare is better. Is that only because you need the spell suppression & life? B/c with gravebind, you can comfortably use carrion golem + feeding frenzy (linked to anom cont dest he doesn't die too often), which is around 15% more damage.. much better than ~50% increased minion damage gloves.
Why would gravebind enable you to do that? I don't understand why you couldn't just do that in a rare pair of gloves, but yes, I need the suppression.

Ah, okay got it. Yeah sorry should have clarified: the golem will instantly kill your worms making it very annoying to summon spiders unless you de-summon golem first. With Gravebind this is a plus - you don’t even need to cyclone/divine ire at all (at least to proc spiders, since golem does it for you).

Ah I see now, anyways I don't have enough sockets for those 3 gems and it is a decent damage increase but I can't justify dropping my gloves for them. The damage on the gloves is just a bonus either way

Ok, thanks for the info on taunt.
I kind of like cyclone because it keeps me mobile i.e. poe's best defense. I am not sure how much help my life gain on hit is, I've been using it the whole time so I just assume it is helpful.
What other skill would be a good pick for a ranged attack for frenzy charges? I've never tried but I assume frenzy with melee is still melee.
