Chat doesn't work with controller support on PC

same problem here. please fix it !!

Same problem here, xbox one controller. I can chat one time then it goes away until i log out.

PS4 controller here. I can send one message from keyboard while in controller mode just fine and then no more messages until relogging.

To add to this, the text input bar is highlighted as the active window and usually there is no input while I type, but every now and then I somehow switch and regardless of what I press on the keyboard, the message "SD" shows up in chat. Pressing another key again removes the "SD" and it just keeps alternating from there. I then sent the SD to the global I was in and it became "d" only alternating until eventually not showing any letters and doing the same function as Square which is edit message.

My guess is sending messages is somehow truncating a piece of the code.

Chat seems to be working with that fix for me on PS4, thank you very much.

Edit - But it might have broken Harvest. I made a separate post but I can't access Harvest stash tab to craft on items as it tries to type into chat instead. I never tried Harvest before the hotfix, so might have been pre-existing.
