Chat doesn't work with controller support on PC

Nothing I could do could make chat work when I was playing with controller support on PC today at launch.

When I hit Enter, the chat bar showed up, but the chat wouldn't respond to the keyboard. Nothing I typed showed up in the chat bar. No controller key binds, including Edit, let me do anything to modify that. So I couldn't chat at all while in game today.

So chat is either not working, or there's some sort of instruction for the user that's missing that I couldn't figure out.

Really smooth launch otherwise! I had a lot of fun dying many times in act one ;-)

EDIT: This is also the case with other text areas as well. I couldn't edit my stash tabs with the controller. I had to re-login with a mouse and keyboard.

Having this issue as well. I can sometimes send a single message after selecting a character, but if I want to send another I need to go back to character selection and re-select my character.

Having the same issue. Sent the first message and now nothing I type goes in chat

Same here. I can send messega only once after logged in.
And when you select whisper menu on social screen with gamepad mode, the game will crash 100%

Having a similar issue. I am able to send one trade copypaste, but after that every keyboard input seems to close and reopen the chat window, but no characters enter the chat box.

Please fix this the controller chat, this is game breaking. I have to play with controller because of a disability. That shouldn't limit me from being able to chat and trade. This is ridiculous, had a bug all last season in the chat window how did you not fix the chat already for controller players?

111%. This isn't a new bug. It was for the whole public beta. Basic functionality needs to work to pass beta.

just here to say that it is the same thing for me and I can usually send a single chat message. Incredible if this also happened in the "beta".
