Wondering how POE utilizes CPU cache

You are probably right, I am rocking a 1660ti only. What are you running as your GPU?

I am still waiting for the GPU prices to go back to normal before I go for any sorts of upgrades. I paid 280 for the 1660Ti and I am not going to spend double the money to get marginal improvement. I am satisfied with my setup atm anyways.

i use 6800xt as GPU ive nvidia high end gpu aswell but i find myh 6800xt better so i keep that .

yes with 1660ti its most likely that you are limited by the GPU in most cases and thats why you cant take and enjoy the benefit of better 3d cpu (if there is any )

I bought a 5800x3D and it has been a great upgrade from my 2600 on 1080p.
I never dipped below 50fps in simulacrum and avg 25 fps in triple beyond T16 80% deli maps when giga harby spawns.

not so different to a regular 5800x then. With 5800x and 3080ti and 3440*1440 resolution my FPS dips to 25-30 in a juiced map (double-triple beyond, scarabs etc., tornado shot deadeye with HH and without corpse destruction). It's probably one of the most hardware demanding builds in the game atm. I think at this point I'm mostly server side limited and upgrading my PC won't help the performance too much.

I was thinking of switching from 5800x to 5800x3d, but it's probably not worth it then.
Hi guys!

So did You ever install the 5800x3D? How is it performing?
I'm about to upgrade my CPU but not sure if it's worth the extra money compared to the 5800X.

Thanks.

im curious too.. I want buy new cpu and i hesitate between 5900x and 5800x3d :/
Thinking only about PoE (mostly) what will be best choice?
What is better option for full party play in high juiced maps?
"y i know poe lives his life and we can't skip some isue.. even with NASA gear.."
But still maby one is better choice than other ??

5800x3d with 8 cores / 16 threads / 3.4 GHz / L3 Cache 96MB
or
5900x with 12 cores / 24 threads / 3.7 GHz / L3 Cache 64MB

anyone can help ??? maby tested with this two ??
5900x is 2 chiplets, so its l3 cache isnt 64 mb, its 2x32. Games cant utilize that, only 32 will be used

From what I know CPU cache usage isn't dictated by software. CPU determines that. Devs can help minimize cache misses but not dictate to double or what not cache for a program or game.

But overall, yes having more faster cache is big for any software.
