What a joke all this negative reaction... I just can't get my head around people complaining about something that doesn't affect them if they don't want to buy it/use the items. It's a free game it's all about supporting the game willingly if you never saw the announcement it wouldn't and WON'T change anything in the way YOU play path of exile. Why do you have to ruin it for others with such a negative reaction. Don't like it don't buy it.

Same thing with the boxes. You don't like the boxes because you want to be activists for addicted people, but then they give something that you know what you get and you're still upset. Can't win at this point, seems to me that you want them to start charging money to play every league. I have so many duplicates mtxs from opening boxes that I wished that recycle box were actually a thing, but no, you god damn complainers had to cry loud enough so it didn't last. Now what do we do with duplicates? Nothing. GREAT!(SARCASM BTW)

Its nice I spend a decent amount on poe but 30$ is a bit much for the price

I don't know, think I may stop purchasing packs for a bit and see what else pops up.

As someone who's admired the companies restraint since the beta testing, this is the first time that it feels questionable. This is pay to earn, a tried and true EA scam tactic to get money for nothing and amp up FOMO by sinking their own money into the -possibility- of getting rewards. It locks people in to playing X hours. This sorta thing as a free reward mechanic (i.e play X hours, get some free MTX selected for the league) would be one thing, but paying up front to it is entirely different.

Doubly so at the 30$ range.

Doubley doubly that most of these are so subtle you'll never see it amdit the screen eater effects that cover the screen. If this was paired with a DRAMATIC simplifying effect on ALL spell effects, sure, but as it stands i'm lucky to see my CHARACTER half the time during a fight, much less a some what subtle effect on my shield, or glow on my bracers. The game moves WAY too fast and the spell effects are WAY to big and flashy at this point. Heck one spell normally eats up most of the visual space, much less the 2-3 your can get going even when you're just fighting a pack of zombies.

I do like the very core idea, similar to the old league reward tracks that felt much better (visually) than the systems used recently (i.e in the acheivements pane), following this evenly paced track with some consmetic stuff would be a great carrot to follow for a league.

30 bucks for this [Removed by Support] really GGG? Like sure the effects are cool but just stop super niche item skins and 90% of the time you won't even notice with the screen always exploding with other effects.

Well, just another Visual MTX option for those who want it. Not sure why some people lose their shit over this.

If you want it and feel its worth it go for it, otherwise dont.
