For 3 points you get 12% maximum health, 4% chaos resistance, and some life regen over 4 seconds.

For those same 3 points I could put in a regular jewel (the one I currently have gives 8% chaos DOT multiplier, 7% max life, 13 int and 1% movement speed) then use the remaining 2 points in % maximum life nodes that are immediately accessible.

Doing that gives me 8% chaos DOT multiplier, 18% max life, and some smaller buffs like extra evasion and the stuff I already mentioned.

Isn't that way better, or am I just missing something?

His character is WAY more stacked than most will be. But if you look at his flasks, he has 3 elemental resistance flasks running. That plus purity of elements is a lot of it.

Perma flasks & purity of elements aura allow me drop resistances from gear.
