How do people set up their key bindings?

Specifically how do you bind frenzy? I'm reading that binding Molten Shell to left-click is the way to go. Is frenzy bound to its own button or am i missing something?

thanks.

Exclusive key for Frenzy. In any case you only need it for somewhat tough bosses, you should not need it for regular mapping.
What's the best thing to focus on for getting a little bit more survivability. For the most part, I'm fine, but every so often a one shot gets me or I get chipped down super quick by a big group of mobs (eater lightning shooters are a big culprit here).

Is more armour / evasion / life the best, or are there other potential layers of defence I should consider?

Currently sitting on 4.1k life, about 68% armour reduction and 70% evasion.
Could anyone take a look at my late league starter? It feels decent but I from my calculations im only at 16 fuses and cant really get much higher without a shitload of currency. But maybe im doing it wrong https://pastebin.com/hCC8m4Yj

My goal is to do some ubers this league.

Also I got a double corrupt altar. Should I try it on a dyadawn or hyrri's ire?

The big game changer for me in terms of survivability was a large cluster jewel with Doryani's Lesson for .2% elemental damage leeched as life. Makes it SO much easier to stay alive.
hello, how are u guys?

This is my pob i dont know how to improve my damage i dont feel like im doing a lot of damage because it takes too long to kill bosses like "the formed".

Leech doesn't work for us -- whatever damage that is converted into instances of leech apply to the totems, and we don't get anything out of that.

Hey !

First, i love this build, had a lot of fun leveling it, but i'm kinda stuck now...

I cant fit malevolence, determination and grace together so i'm really squishy

Can anyone give me advices on how to upgrade my build ? Particularly in the tankiness department.

https://pastebin.com/Nc6mpGpE

Thanks and ty a lot for the build and all the usefull tips in this thread !

I'll try to help you with your tankiness, but there are parts of your build that I don't quite understand:

1. Bow has the crafted prefix "30% increased Damage over Time". Why not a much stronger "Gain 15% of Fire Damage as Extra Chaos Damage" since that's also a prefix?

2. Quiver has "Adds 27 to 56 Fire Damage to Attacks", Amulet has "Adds 17 to 34 Fire Damage to Attacks", and you're running Elemental Equilibrium. Having fire damage wrecks your exposure unless you're giving up on the keystone and going for other methods like gloves implicits. It's unlikely that we can get enough raw fire damage from gear easily to outdo what EE is already giving (25% fire exposure), so the best move is to look for better gear that doesn't conflict with EE.

3. Imperial Bow base. This base has slower attack speed (1.45) and is consequential because all the other mods for attack speed are increasing our Attack Rate based on our bow's attack speed. In your case, you have 1.73 Attack Rate from: 1.45 (base) x 2.38 (all your gear, frenzy, onslaught, etc.) x 0.5 (ballista support). If we switched your bow to the recommended thicket/short bow on 1.50 local attack speed with t1 attack speed (18%), we're looking at 1.82 (base) x 2.38 x 0.5 = 2.1658 Attack Rate. This greatly boosts your damage since you're only at 12 fuses at the moment.

4. Helmet Enchant. You mentioned not being able to fit the essential auras, and that's making you squishy. IMO determination, grace and defiance banner are the most basic auras, and you should look to expand on this only when you have enough toughness. In your case, you've probably bought this helmet from someone playing EK, so it has an enchant which we don't use. At this point, you can try to get Determination/Malevolence "has 30% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency" enchant, plus a single point to Defiance Banner efficiency on tree. Alternatively, Enlighten4 in your chest will allow you to skip that passive on Defiance Banner.

5. Cluster Jewel. Apart from the getting helmet enchants for reservation efficiency, a popular choice is to get a mana reservation small cluster.

Mortifying Aspect is a good choice since it comes with 11% to Chaos Resistance. Choose between 2 or 3 small passives leading up to this based on whether you need the extra 6% efficiency.

6. Hit Chance. You're sitting at 72% hit chance, which is a huge loss of damage. We usually calculate our fuse count by looking at Attack Rate and EA's skill effect duration (assuming 6 totems). Even with a high Attack Rate, we're losing a lot of potential fuses because nearly 30% of your arrows won't be hitting. To combat this, we stack accuracy from many sources: Quiver, Gloves and Rings are the best places to start, but Helm and Amulet also allows for accuracy mods if you can afford the spots. Precision is used to top off whatever is missing, and having Precision active lets us go for a Watcher's Eye with up to 15% increased attack speed.

7. Ignite DPS. In my opinion, our tankiness is inextricably linked to our DPS. For example, when fighting Invitations to the Feared, killing the bosses quickly once they spawn (while having only moderate tankiness) is so much better than being a veritable tank while having to dodge the visual orgy of enemy skills. This extends to normal content as well, since most monsters with dangerous (and telegraphed) moves take time for their animations, and a strong ignite kills them before you even take damage. In fact, most of our deaths should only come from irritating sources like retribution rubbish (poison balls, DoT pools, etc).

8. Suppression. As usual, 100% or bust. Anything less than this means you have a good chance of taking double damage from what you're used to, and instantly dying from that.

9. 3,577 Life. You've got 59% increased Life from Tree, which means you're neglecting a good number of life passives. Profane Chemistry wheel alone brings you up to 74%. Add Purity of Flesh and it becomes 89%, which is still on the low side, but is the bare minimum to scale any raw +maximum life stat you have.

10. Cinderswallow Urn gives you the least mileage in your flask setup. You can take this flask once your build is done, but right now, a Granite Flask (50% inc. armor mod, 25% inc. effect mod) will bring your Armour from 15,228 (70% PDR) up to 28,683 (82% PDR). This increase in PDR is really useful to prevent 1 shots.

11. Lethal Pride. Unfortunately, your Lethal Pride provides nearly nothing. Use the "Find Timeless Jewel" function in PoB to look for one with stats you need. Depending on your direction, you can aim for more dps (ignite faster, burning damage, totem damage), toughness (max life, %life regen, reduced damage from crit, endurance charge on kill, phys taken as fire) or utility (totem placement speed). If you need help on this, just let me know and I'll do a short write-up for using the search feature.

12. Polaric Devastation. It's such a strong offensive choice, but also helps you defensively since Covered in Ash also applies 20% LESS movement speed.

There are many other aspects of your damage that we can improve on, but since your focus is on tankiness, this is what you can consider for now.

Do you have a PoB that we can look at?

Also I got a double corrupt altar. Should I try it on a dyadawn or hyrri's ire?

Just did an analysis for another player, so I'll do yours later today. A quick look here:

Watchtower wheel: You pathed to the right of the wheel, which gives totems crit. We don't bother with crit apart from Elemental Overload, which is nearly guaranteed given our attack rate. If you want to keep the anoint of Aspect of the Eagle on your amulet, then adjust your Watchtower wheel so it paths on the LEFT for the attack speed.

Otherwise, anoint Watchtowers, and you can skip a bunch of passives on this side of the tree.

Weathered Hunter wheel. Unspeccing the entire wheel, your hit rate drops to 97%, which is fine. Of course, we aim for 100%, but that's too much at the expense of 4 passive points.

Totem mastery. Chance of summoning 2 instead of 1 totem is quite a waste of a passive. Getting a 1-second taunt, however, is a lifesaver. You've got both, so drop the former and use it elsewhere.

Your fuses are indeed at 17, and you don't need a lot of currency to bring that higher. Firstly, get a totem small cluster with onslaught on summon. The other notable can be ancestral echo or snaring spirits. Also, you have a bunch of free skill points from respeccing, so take all the jewel sockets and look for cheap ones with attack speed (combined sum of attack speed from bows, and just attack speed) and %life for now. you can get more stats on jewels when you're richer.

Start from here, and get to level 95 so we can spend a bit more to move you onto a very comfortable build to farm ubers.

Also, you can probably sell the double corrupt altar if you're short on currency, and use that to improve your build. Otherwise, go ahead and good luck!

Thanks man this is very helpful!!

Regarding the weathered hunter wheel. I feel I need toe precision aura mana reservation. Otherwise I can't really cast anything besides my lifetapped skills. Should I get an enlighten instead?
