Is POE Populated on Console?

Pls wear your aluminium hat while you spray rumors.
Few things to keep in mind - for starters to use Trade Board (so sell things via it) you need premium stash tab, otherwise the only way to sell your items will be by spamming trade channel which is inconvenient. In state of the GGG behavior towards consoles they just don't deserve any money from console players but that's my personal feeling.

Keep in mind any money you spend on console version is LOST when you will go back to the PC because for some reason any micro transactions purchased are non transferable.

Regarding player numbers compared to PC it's a fraction but there is a lot less trolls especially on Xbox - Microsoft have zero tolerance towards shitty behavior so such people are punished when reported.

In general if not for GGG behavior I would say it's worthwhile to pass time by playing on consoles. Keep in mind on consoles player retention is a lot faster so joining mid-league means waiting ages for people to accept (or refuse) Trade Board trades and it's harder to find items you need because many people don't bother with trading at this point.

If you think GGG is doing a good job at communicating/patching the Console Version then you are in denial. This game has suffered a lot this league, most of the feedback provided by players have been ignored all league.

I'm going to second everything in this post. As long as you understand that anything you buy in Xbox cannot be transferred to PC, and you'll need to buy a premium stash tab to effectively trade, you might as well check it out and see what you think.

Many people consider trade leagues in console to be basically SSF+. The prices are inflated and the interface makes it difficult to find specific equipment stats. If trade is a big part of how you play PoE, then you may find the console experience frustrating.

As far as all the other noise, I find GGG to be one of the most transparent game developers out there. There are some high tempers because console didn't receive the special events (this time, they have in the past), and GGG hasn't replied to every demand for an explanation on the forums. I have no problem with the way the company has supported console play and I continue to financially support them. That's just me.

I am in the same situation as my new gpu won't be coming anytime soon, and happened to get a series x to pass my time with console version of poe.

Things you will be upset

1.lesser player engagement for sure,it is not so dead but you can definitely tell the difference coming from PC, you won't find much leveling run, everything you are on your own, just for the quick comparison, there are only about 30 empowered gem online from all player's stash tab.

2.you won't be able to min max anything as nearly nobody selling it or afford it.

3.Leveling in 90s is painful, your only choice is solo to be honest.

4.trade search is aweful, ggg made the trade search result so dumb and stupid, there is no mix and match like browser trade search, instead you got to flip thousand pages just to find a few mods you need.

Things you will be happy

1.if you are SSF type of player, console version = SSF+bonus, you get to trade and team up with others but most of the time you feel like playing SSF.

2.Throughout long hours of gameplay, controller > k&m

3.if you are craft type of player, some craft base is really off market price, you always find amazing deals, this is my opinion, just bare in mind that min max is nearly impossible due to lack of crafting material available from trade market.

Lastly
You won't be regret playing console version of poe since you have series s, next gen experience is fulfilled, game is free anyway, nothing cut off from PC, it's still a great game.

I didn't even catch the part where you said you had a series s. The worst part about playing on my xbox one were the load times, even with an external ssd. Just upgraded to the series s and the experience is so much better. Really, give it a try!
I switched to console when it was released, and it’s true that it feels like an after-thought with the delayed patch fixes and 1 week delay on leagues. The player base is smaller compared to PC but people still play. Because of the smaller amount of players, I feel like trade has less items and prices are higher for it.

Now that the events aren’t happening on console, the league has even less. I personally knew a lot of people who were going to come back for the event, but that ship sailed. It is more convenient for me and if you don’t mind a smaller player base, try console. I wouldn’t spend any money though since we do get treated like second class citizens. Feel free to add me on Xbox: BigBadWolf510
