Watching through this, you seem to be substantially more tanky to be able to tank the beams and have significantly more damage. Your tree is quite hugely different to the one in the build as well, so now i'm not sure whether it's because of the tree, or if i'm missing out on significant stuff gear wise. Of which i'm struggling to figure out upgrades that aren't 5-6ex+ each.

You have to see the new videos fuzzy is doing. They have updated pobs.

He can tank the lasers because of spell damage supression chance. Check his position. He has a "beam" coming in front of him and another on sirus. Positioning matters a LOT.

I do supposedly have 99% spell suppression chance, although ingame says 100, must be getting insanely unlucky if that 1% is the cause of my deaths. I'll change the shield up, get a chest with power charge generation and look at getting a claw similar to the one you linked if it sells before I can get the cash for it and see how that does.

I've switched the tree up to the one you have and seen a big change in damage at least. Just need more crit so I can replace the diamond flask with a granite one. Cheers bud.

Right, I forgot that was a thing. I got lucky and found a 6 linked thicket bow in the meantime anyway so was able to sell that. There's two claws going at 2ex at the moment, which one was it you were pointing towards, the Damnation Bite one? Both mentioned less total DPS than the one I currently have, though i'm not sure if it takes ele pen into account.

PoB does take ele pen into account. Make sure your target is set to be Sirus.

If you take an item that has basically nothing but a load of ele pen, and swap your target between 'No Boss' and 'Sirus' in PoB, you'll see it actually adds more DPS on Sirus than regular trash.

e.g. unequip your amulet, make a fake shaper amulet with nothing but prefix elevated ele penetration, then swap targets... PoB sirus dps will be several percent higher than standard trash dps cos pen matters more with him.

It's possibly worth noting that you can sorta muscle through ele pen to some degree. I haven't checked it on this build so I'm talking hand-wavey general case, but I've had a lot of builds where T1 elemental damage with attacks was better than the crafted ele pen most people were taking in imitation of the top of poe.ninja, but was worse than the veiled/elevated ele pen that top of poe.ninja was actually using.

Edit: As Slottm pointed out, it's not even close for this build - the 1H version of edwa is substantially weaker than the 2H setups I was thinking of and the ele pen is identical for both 1H & 2H.

It's not even close, ele pen is probably the best stat this build can get. elemental damage with attacks is much worse

Because the other numbers are important. The different mitigations.

What matters is that you survive the "big hit" and don't die while chugging the life flask.
