No EE makes cold conversion much weaker. pure ele and ele conversion is probably dead? 8% pen + curse with reduce effect can't make up for EE.

I'm going to focus on phys this league because the 20% overwhelm seems OP (vs 8% ele pen). But I think it's not added to POB yet because it doesn't change dps vs 'sirus'.

Poison spiders is basically same as before though still 1.1m DPS each :P The new shield is completely broken too. Can scale spiders to 3m+

edit: I hope there is good phys spectre in scourge to save pure spectres build :(

Well, I got about 120k per skele, 7-8mill damage on a budget phys/impale skele/spectre build. Should be enough for a league start and carry me into sirus end game. I'll reroll spiders depending on the shield rarity and whatnot, but not worth risking starting that build without knowing drop chance of the new uniques.

I'm no expert at phys minions, never done one.
What exactly does the overwhelm thing do? I'm under the impression that it kinda works like Ele penetration, but for phys instead.

If that's the case, how does it work with Impale?
I thought one of the main reasons why you went phys impale was because Impale stacks ignored physical defenses.

So kinda thought Overwhelm wouldn't do anything since you're already bypassing monster defenses with impale.

Yeah lots of nodes got nerfed or removed, but I mean most people don't allocate all the the damage passive points (I think!)

For example, I don't allocate last 2x 10% next to Aid notable (allocate on cluster instead for extra stats or take life nodes instead).

Same for Fearsome force. I never use that cluster. I guess MI builds use it?

And maybe same for Rav Horde. most people anoint it, right?

Maybe another way to think is you can now use 9pt or 10pt large instead of expensive 8pt :P


Regarding Ravenous Horde; if PoB v.2.9.0 is correct, the oil cost has dastically changed from Verdant/Opa/Opa to Verdant/Silver/Golden.

"damage is recorded before any damage mitigation is applied" is for raw damage calculation.

If your minion hits for 100k. then impale calculates from 100k = 10k impale x5. This is important for impale because armour is more effective if it's higher than the hit. Bosses have about 30k armour so 10k impale is mostly mitigated. Overwhelm helps a lot.


I think endgame bosses have 30k armour, so it will reduce the 10k impale a lot!

Overwhelm is important if you do many small hits (small impale). Other phys builds do slow big hits so the impale is bigger also.

I think everyone is going to try spiders this league :P

Even with the new gloves summon mechanic sucks especially in boss fight.

Really wish GGG would tell us the rarity and droplocation of new uniques, but I can understand that they want people to find out themselves.
My plan is to start with a normal necro, transition to spiders and when I have some gear switch to ocult for more dps.
Pob updated, ggg give us damage for minions, on left cluster, where is Redemption and ect.
and a little buffs on damage over +1 spectre and on start from witch (lord of the dead)
