Hello there,

Today I am facing a dilemma, I have the currency for up my build with Slavedriver's and more, but I don't see the advantage to taking them. If I drop my current gloves I will lose some survivability and I will not be able to keep all my mana reservation skill since i will lose Eldritch battery (i need some mana for the other skills).
With the Slavedriver's I can drop Eldritch battery so I have 3 free skill points, it's cool but not a game changer IMO. Honestly, I don't know if the Slavedriver's are a good option for me...

Thx for ur kinds advices.

The only real advantage to having slavedrivers over anything else might be that you can get endurance charges.

You also can drop Eldrich Battery which brings you ES back to protecting your health. Essentially giving our already low HP pool another 400 - 700 EHP. This also frees up some Passive Points.

I waited a while to switch to Slavedrivers but as soon as I did the changes I was able to make definitly added to my survivability. If you have mana issues when you switch, I added Lifetap support to my Flame Dash so I did not run out of mana when I needed a Flame Dash.

Also, Blast-Freeze on a Cluster Jewel has like quadrupled my survivability. Everything being frozen instantly from just 1 of those mobs being frozen has done alot.

I was under the impression that i would have perma endurance charges from this. I upgraded and put on immortal call only to find it wasnt getting charges fast enough (im pretty sure the 10% is random to frenzy/endurance/or power charges even if their maxed, because im always maxed on frenzy/power but its still not always giving me endurance charges)

even after swapping back to iron skin i wasnt getting nearly as much endurance charge uptime compared to the small jewel cluster. once i have enough currency for a large with blast freeze i will be putting back the endurance small cluster and swapping back to immortal call

i will say that it DID let me get the 5 points back from travelling to EB as well as let me swap out my mana flask with another utility. both of which imo were worth
the build is weak.

died 400 times with it. t16 maps take average 5-10 minutes to clear
i had to drop all my clusters and take life nodes etc

life nodes won't help. I got 4.4k hp and i feel pretty comfortably during mapping. Your gear is bad mostly. You don't use arcane surge? it is big dps loss. Imo you need much more damage, one shitty mod already costs you a lot of time and survivability, another one can cost you a map. You can get better shield, use malachai, i would also change your hubris to something evasion-based. This build suffers a lot from projectiles, you can even pick up arrow dancing early on. Stacking ES is definitely pointless. You also use hypothermia, but one quick look at your pob immediately says that it gives you less damage than increased critical strikes. Use hextouch with frostbite or assassin's mark ring, or trigger wand with assassin's mark+frost bomb.
TLDR: a lot can be improved in your build. You need to double your dps at least.
Considering you already bought 2 of the most expensive items in the build it shouldn't be that big of a problem to improve it.

Overall yes, build is weak for mapping, considering the delay on traps, the damage requires a lot of investment, but as league starter and bosskiller it is great and probably better than most league starters. Personally i would've respecced already and played something else, but have no idea what to play, so invested around 12 ex (slavedriver, enlighten, +2 amulet) yesterday and stopped dying as much as i did, almost got to level 95, awakening level 9.

Hi.

Playing the build and am struggling with survivability. So after a bit of thinking and shopping, I'm facing a dilemma. I can't decide between keeping Arctic Armor or using Kiara's Determination flask.

While using Arctic Armor, I can get "Immunity to Frozen" as well as 13% less damage taken from physical and fire damage.

On the other hand, Kiara's Determination can give me "Immunity to Freeze, Chill, Curses and Stuns" (making me immune to all CCs and debuffs except bleed/corrupting blood and poison) for a couple of seconds and I can buy an Enlighten Support and run Hatred which will boost my damage by almost 20%.

Or I can skip Hatred and run both Arctic Armor and Kiara's Determination flask.

Which would be better? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Honestly i would just drop this anti-stun quartz flask and make one like this

I have no stun avoidance and it is rarely a problem, just try to stack more evasion on gear and maybe avoid "chance to dodge is unlucky".
I haven't tried kiara, but i've tried using enkindling flasks, and i think they require too much management to be efficient. I prefer them automated, even though this build isn't that good for that (because traps don't count as hits for flask trigger). And this build also needs a lot of damage, so this way you can get another damage flask (wise oak or atziri's promise, bottled faith if you are rich) + hatred as you wanted.
Also, imo, enkindling duration is much worse than this mod:

it reuses until you have 0 charges. If you get flask duration or charges reduced on the tree or belt you can have quicksilver almost permanently for whole map. Still, even without those mods you can sustain it sometimes, on average i press it 3-5 times per map i think. Increased duration doesn't even come close with charge penalty.

Most of all you need more damage. For example you can buy 21\20 ice trap, it costs 30c or less. If you want to use rare gloves, use ones with incursion mod "increased cold damage against chilled enemies", you can also craft "increased elemental damage if you crit recently". Awakened added cold damage is great boost. Maybe look into cluster jewels, you can also try to craft stygian vise with zeal essence to get 17-21% trap throwing speed. Without slavedrivers it is probably good idea. You also specced into "nimbleness", but without slavedrivers it is not that great for you. You could get some hp instead.

Thanks for your advice. Much obliged.
Hey all,

I'm still a little confused by Malachai's Artifice - maybe someone can help me real quick:
1. Using Malachai's Artifice means having no item whatsoever with "Added Cold Damage to Spells", right?
2. Adds # to # Cold Damage / #% Increased Cold Damage is okay?

Thanks in advance

Edit: I think I got it: It's okay to increase cold damage, but *adding* cold damage to spells means adding cold damage to Arma Brand/Storm Brand, which would boost cold res on enemies, right?

That is correct. What you actually want is added fire/lightning damage in order to boost res on those damage types and lower resistance for cold. Socketing storm or Armageddon brand into the ring and casting it on a boss will increase lightning/fire resist and lower cold. EE can be a bit confusing. :)

So if I had like a weapon that added fire damage to spells, every enemy hit by any of my spells would have a lowered cold res?
