I'd be very interested in your pob, I'm a sucker for this build, and I don't mind tinkering to find a middle ground between rippy and reapy; cod+portal op, etc.

This is how far I've come on the 3.21 League Start PoB.

https://pobb.in/KHKxIcXCqhvu

Only includes 3 arbitrary profiles for now, all for Occultist.
There's a setup for White, Yellow and Red maps.

Will add Necro profiles later.

Thanks man, that looks pretty awesome!

I've been fiddling a bit with trying to fit Dead Reckoning into a similar build (eyeing Ghazzy's Zoomancer too -- but like you said that one looks ... maybe a touch on the tanky side?), but so far no luck -- I'm either going full glass cannon or dropping dps because of dropping Zombies/physDmg, instead linking Skellies with e.g. Pierce, Spell Echo, Elemental Penetration, Controlled Destruction, and Minion Damage.

I feel like it should be doable, but my PoB Fu is weak, and it might land waaaay outside the scope of your build :)

I wanted to incorporate Skelly Mages back in 3.18 when they were the meta minion build but it was too awkward. The problem is that they do random elemental dmg which makes it really hard to scale. Since they are ranged minions you also want to scale them with ranged support gems which forces you to run a different minion buddy sharing the supports.

What you can do is run Skelly Mages and Hyrr's Watch Spectres or Syndicate Operatives in the helm. Then link them together wtih GMP and either Chain and Fork for alot of ranged Clearspeed. I've tried it, works very well but you sacrifice a bit of Single Target dps. But the Golems + Zombies in the other sockets kinda make up for that.

You mean my endgame build? I'm running an Anima Stone in it.

Oh dear, I appear to be blind. That's embarrassing.

Ooo, good point. Wouldn't (eventually) Anomalous Faster Projectiles for the 60% (at 20/20) chance for the projectiles to return be better for clear, though?

I read that since Operatives' projectiles pierce, the Anomalous effect won't cause the projectiles to bounce off the enemies, instead they will bounce at the end of their "trajectory" -- so each projectile has a 60% chance to hit the enemies twice. That'd be a 60% flat damage increase off the bat.

I'm not sure how the skelly mages' projectiles work, but if they can pierce too, that'd be one helluva clear with GMP. That being said, Chain and Fork appeal to my inner arc simp, ngl.

I'm going to trying this early in the league to see if it works correctly. I know that testers pre-patch have said the interaction doesn't seem to work properly.

They can pierce, but they need the support gem to do so.

It's definitely a cool dmg boost if we can get gmp, pierce and anom faster proj all working together.

We don't know how this new Pierce and return mechanic will interact yet. Will have to test it out in 3.21. If it works as assumed, meaning the projectiles pierce a target and then return after reaching it's maximum distance hitting the target again on the way back it could be really strong.

Syndicate Operative projectiles are extremely random and I don't think the return mechanic works on them. Think I tried it in 3.16 and to my recollection, nothing that alters projectiles work on SO besides GMP. Might be wrong though.

I did record a video earlier of how Hyrr's Watch with Skelly Mages play. This is with GMP, Chain and Fork:

Hello, I just wanted to say thanks for your continued support on this build!

Since I've tried it, every time I come back to poe I want to play it and you're here with a build update for the patch and some directions and it's so helpful!

I skipped the last few leagues but the only way I'd come back for this one is if I was playing this exact build, hope you'll find a way and have some time to make it work! Stay safe

The build should remain super strong. Really hard to nerf or outperform it since it just stacks minions ontop of eachother for higher efficiency.

I'm not personally gonna update this forum guide this league. Will most likely do it in the future. However, GhazzyTV which is a huge buildcreator and content creator on youtube is updating this buildguide.

He's going to release a Youtube video and written guide on PoEVault.
He's naming the build the Zoomancer which is this build with some changes made streamlining the build for a wider audience.

So if you're interested in playing an updated versio of this build, check out his youtube video when he releases it.

Compared to other metaminion builds like Poison SRS I think this build is better at higher budgets but slightly weaker at lower budgets due to how ridiculous poison scaling is with low investment. Poison dmg has a cap though so poison builds usually cap out at ~35 million dps while my build well goes above the 100 million mark with investment.

I finished 3.20 with this build:
https://pobb.in/VLjyi-iTAv14

I'm probably just gonna post a 3.21 league start PoB for how I'm gonna leaguestart and call it a day. Mainly because me and Ghazzy want to leaguestart the build differently. Personally, I'm leaguestarting the build as Occultist(Did it last league) because I think Profane Bloom explosions are cheating and just make the game too easy early on. Then I swap to Necromancer when I got my explodey AG setup.

Ghazzy thinks having builds that swap ascendencies midway between budgets et.c. makes the game harder for newer and casual players and I kinda agree. So his leaguestarter is running Necro all the way and focuses more on defenses with blockcap et.c. to give his followers a smoother and less rippy experience.

I personally focus more on speed, dps and clear so I can push harder content earlier and farm currency faster to hit the endgame faster.

We all gucci, thanks for posting the new 3.21 gonna definitely start that as occultist and follow the pob, we're cold conversion autists anyway who needs def when you have dmg, i really enjoy the playstyle of just running around and playing with 2 mouse buttons and 1 keyboard button watching everything dissapear. Thanks for the work gonna check the PoB and start planning the start of the league for me, gonna keep checking the thread for updates or anything, and set up my snipe trades gonna be a long day when league starts
Hey played this build a couple times and came back to it this league and was interested that you decided to go occultist was just curious what you prio first from your lab ascendancies?

Profane Bloom -> +1 Curse(So you can run Profane Proxy and Blasphemy for QoL) -> -20% penetration.

The last point is a tossup. Either you run Freeze/chill immune and 10% dmg reduction or 60% chaos res.

Last league I started Occultist and it felt really good. The biggest problem with Necro is that it feels very slow and clunky before you hit the AG in red maps. With Occultist you're able to equip Blasphemy + Frostbite instantly in Act4 and cruise through the early game.

The biggest downside of the Occultist is that you need to reserve mana for Blasphemy + Skitterbots + Hatred. This means you can't run Determination in the early game which makes Physical hits EXTREMELY scary.

To solve this you run Enfeeble (31% global dmg reduction) and Lightning Coil (50% of phys dmg taken as Lightning). This doesn't make you "tanky" but it gets the job done and allow you to farm red maps relatively comfortably.
When you hit higher budgets like in the "Red Maps" section of the PoB you'll be able to fit Determination, Molten Shell and The Front Line which is when the build starts feeling really good to play.

My last league start was basically free as I got my Bitterdreams for 3 chaos on day one. They'll probably be more expensive this time around. Hopefully not above the 10 chaos mark :)
Best way to get started is to prioritize these items:
Sidhearth's Breath(ASAP) > Bitterdream > Grip of the Council > Alberons Warpath
These are the uniques I suggest running through the campaign and very early in maps.
