[3.21] Cold Conversion Summoner | Build guides for all budgets | (Ghazzy Zoomancer)
i am so mad its not even funny. buying most of the upgrades but crafting myself the helmet because its quite easy (in theory)... got the +3 and Minion damage and i spend about 25 fking EX so far for either reroll keep prefix or prefix cannot be changed + cold more common but i cant hit the Hypothermia for shit.
went into craftofexile to see if i am retarded/missing something and 4 out of 5 rolls went into hypothermia there. over 30ex total spend and i still didnt get it. couldve bought an insane helmet for that
frostbite on animate guardian ? i have frostibe in my ring WITH apply with blade vortex
i use garb of ephemeral for my AG chest is not good ?
You can get Frostbite on hit gloves for AG and run a different ring your self.
Then you apply EW and AG applies Frostbite.
That way, you don't have to invest into +1 Curse which is hard to get.
You can keep the Garb on the AG. I personally don't like Garb that much, don't think it does much really. Sure, it protects you against crits when he stands on you and makes chilled ground map mods less of an issue.
If I wasn't running Inpulsa I would just go with a Doppleganger chest instad. It gives him 10% health regen and 25% phys dmg mitigation.

sometimes luck is just not on your side
Feels bad man :(
That's why I don't craft most of my items unless there's a clearcut way to do it. I despise fossil crafting with a passion because of the RNG.
In Harvest I used 32 resonators to get +2 on a convoking wand. Didn't get it, just bought a 66% minion dmg, 5% double dmg +2 wand for 18 ex instead (They were cheap then).
In Heist I spent 1400 exalted orbs to meta craft a 9-link helm.
When I finally hit it I wasn't happy, I was just relieved and glad it was over. Since then, I don't really craft too much. I'd much rather just grind the currency to buy what I want.

oh yeah it sounds horrible to craft that helmet, so much rng involved. the worst feeling while crafting is spending currency without getting something in return until you hit the craft.
i usually love crafting (one of my fav. in the game) and i make a lot of currency with it but crafting something for yourself without hitting is feels shit :D
luckily blight-ravaged maps are stupid profitable atm so i have enough to spam a few exalts on the helmet. might just buy the late game wand tho.. :D

hypothermia has 2400 weight, cold res has 8000.
So it should be roughly 1:4. Even better chance with reforge cold, cold more common.
I had the similar experience last league trying to get a frost damage roll on a +2/2 charges shield. i think it took like 20ex to get my first tier 8 roll
Hello guys, it's my first time playing Necromancer, and I'm very new to PoE in general. Just reached level 91 and figured out how to start spawning Maven...
I was lucky enough to get 3 exalts, would someone please tell me which items I need to change/acquire in order to progress my build? (I'm completely clueless) https://pastebin.com/WPMUQsBG
I was thinking of Cluster Jewels, or a new helm but they all seem to be extremely expensive, Overall I have enough dmg to clear trash in T14-16 maps, I struggle against bosses and sometimes get 1 popped if I'm not careful. In your opinion what should I try to get next in order to progress?
Last thing I did, was use my Animate Guardian and I've equiped him with the items from the Animate Guardian Section. (only the armor is a Budget one, because I didn't have 1.2ex at the time for the armor that makes it Crit Immune)
I'm running 4 SO, 5 Carrior Golems, 8 Zombies, 2 Skitterbots and 1 Animate Guardian. Thank you so much in advance.
I try to think of this build as a golem build, with the spectres playing a supporting role. That means your helm should really be the first thing to upgrade, because atm it's 3 support gems with +3 to minion gem lvls. Look for a 'supported by minion damage' elder helm with at least +2 to minion gems, +3 is better but harder to get nice affixes on for a low price. The long term power creep mainly comes from the helm, you can invest 100ex into one and it will continue to give you more and more dps to your golems.
Getting a good wand is certainly something to consider, but in doing so you lose a whole golem, that's 1/5th of the dps. PoB can come in handy to do some paper math to compare the switch to a wand, but generally speaking I'd say +1/+1 to gems with good minion suffix roles would be a comparable switch. Granted with the trigger affix you get a tonne of convenience, but it's not too hard to cast curse and offering manually until you have something worth swapping to.
The boots you have mean you can get that 4th spectre but to my mind it's not worth the cost a good set of rare boots that will give you life/res and more movememnt speed. Consider a Skin of the Lords to make up for this, but this would be after the helm imo.
Certainly look to get quality on the gems, and save for an awakened cold pen gem, that would allow you to drop elemental army from your zombies and get frostbite curse. This is a very powerful dps boost for bosses and elite packs, it might even be worth dropping army straight up so you can use curse instead. Alternatively if you go with a trigger wand, look to get a new ring with frostbite on hit.
One thing you can do right now for (nearly) free is respec your tree. The annointments on amulets mean you don't need to have that node allowcated on the tree to get the benefit from it, you don't even need to path there. That means you can remove all the points from Death Attunment right up to the small life passive node, and then use those points to path down through the Shaper node into constitution. With the left over 1 point I suggest you pick up the '+50 to maximum life' point from a 'Life Mastery' wheel. Other nice choices here are regen while moving or some people recommend the flask one.
Once you've made this change you could consider getting a Thread of hope, and respec out of the top right half of your tree, but it will feel pretty different when you do. Indomitable Army gives a huge defensive boost, so make sure you allowcate Sacrafice, and drop the minion leech tree master passive for 'minions recover 5% life on minion death'. This is constantly procc'd by the spectres generating new phantasms to replace the old ones. With all the extra points you get from using a thread it's worth picking up Devotion, and it will help with the move to a cluster jewel, but this is not urgent on the list imo. Another good spot for points is going for Quick Reovery, or Annointed Flesh. Elemental damage is a little dangerous for the build, so even +1 all res will help a lot, plus you get some nice other nodes to help with shock/burn/curse.
Once you've got the "base" of the build set and you start looking towards bigger ticket items this is generally the upgrade path I like to go:
1. Wand: The Wand is the most important big upgrade to get if you're going from Clayshaper straight into a +2 trigger wand. The reason is because the +2 and additional minion damage provides the biggest dps upgrade to the build overall as it affects all minions. It also provides trigger which is a huge QoL aswell as much needed minion survivability from the levels which is needed for zombies and the AG.
2. Helm: This is the second big item one should go for. We're talking +3 with minion damage helm into a +3 minion dmg helm with Hypothermia aswell. Generally a 10-15 ex upgrade. Can also be selfcrafted pretty easily.
3. Auls Uprising: I got this item as my second upgrade because Hatred reservation necks were out for 5 ex and I suspected they would rise in price. So I snagged this quickly. This item provides everythign the build needs and if you get hatred reservation you get flexibility with using both Vaal Haste and Vaal Grace as Auras.
4. Proper Skin of the lords with Elemental Equilibrium.
If you're running a Skin of the lords with a non optimal keystone and the EE chest is expensive, this is the point where I would consider getting it.
I only bought mine first because I could snag both my chests for 1 ex each.
5. +2 minimum frenzy and power charge Brittle on block shield.
These shields don't exist, feels like I'm the person inventing this shield. Majority of Necro Aegis builds go with Titanium shields. I think people are sleeping on this one. It seems incredibly broken.
All of us will most likely have to craft this ourselves.
5. +2 Spectre Boots. Now we're getting into some really expensive Maven Orb item territories.
6. Minmaxed Rings with perfect resistances, +3 unset for AG et.c. to prepare for losing all resistances from belt.
7. Headhunter or Magebane.
Thank you guys SO MUCH for the advice and breakdown, really helped me understand things. At the moment I'm leveling up my skill gems with 20% quality, and I'm searching for a Skin of the Lords with the correct color sockets (with elemental equilibrium, should I Search for something else like defensive corruption?)
I'm also searching for a +2 minion Wand, and a Helm trying to see if I can get one thats underpriced. As for the skill tree, it feels like I'm going to lose dmg if I unspec the top part without having cluster jewels. I already bought the jewel that automatically gets me big passives in a medium range thing. If the dmg loss is negligeble maybe it's better to spend the roughly 10-20pts in survivability stats. I'm going to check the Awakened gems and if they're not super expensive I'll try to get them. It's just with my 3 ex budget I'm trying to get the item that will have most value in terms of dps.
I'm really grateful for the comments, if someone has a few minutes and is willing would you add me on Discord and I can share screen and you help me discuss the skill tree and explain some basic stuff? My ID is: Mezelluf#5927
I got an awakeners orb drop last night and threw together the brittle +2/+2 shield. Had another suffix so I'll just craft cold as extra chaos and call it a day for now. I'm wondering if the brittle affect doesnt work with minions? Not sure if there is a indicator for brittle but I can check tonight.

uhm when i try to craft bound+frigid to get +3, 20 minion dmg and 20 hypothermia it costs on avg. 690 tries with a chaos cost of 9600 chaos. wouldnt say that this is the best method tbh.. ^^
