Bear Trap
bear trap is op in pvp, when a player is trapped because they are unable to attack, and the other person can keep casting traps around them making the match unfair. just making bear trap lock the enemy in place is how it should be any ways, only makes sense. would like this change to happen

At lvl20 it does ok damage with Hatred, crit chance from tree crit multi gem, added fire gem and but a well rolled melee weapon, wand or bow does much more damage with the same investment.
It seems like this was nerfed for players only and it still hits like Cole when monsters or exiles use it. This being a spell and one of the hardest hitting physical damages along with evangelists completely renders life/EV nonviable. There may be some kind of MoM, Phase Acrobatics,block combo that could work but most ev builds are much better off grabbing IR to avoid getting destroyed by hard hitting physical spells. Can someone tell me if bear trap works with diamond flasks? if yes are the traps wich you set up loosing the "lucky" buff when the flask buff expires or are the traps keeping the buff until they go off?
and is it possible to block/dodge a bear trap like other spells? thx for the answers! ING: "MeneaterMildrid" or "WICKEDSICKmoves"

Bear trap suffers the same problem Poison Arrow used to until it was buffed.
Doing a bit of quick math Empowered Bear Trap in +1 gear ~ level 24 = 2000 phys average All trap passives = 168% increased trap damage Fully buffed hatred Aura (94% increased aura effect) = 70% phys added as cold Added fire high level = 40% phys added as fire Lets say you get 100% increased general damage from gear because why not 2000 * 3.168 = 6336 phys + 0.7 * 6336 = 4435.2 Cold + 0.4 * 6336 = 2534.4 Fire 13.3k damage per trap. You also have 38% increased trap throwing speed and 3 additional traps 6/1.38 = 4.3 seconds DPS for 4.3 seconds is 18.35K before you must wait for cooldown. This is absolute maximum damage, with close to, if not perfect gear and it's not enough to deal with high end bosses solo. You can't tank because you've got no life leech and it will take a really long time to kill high HP bosses. Sure it trivialises some fights, but they are going to be trivial regardless of its strength. Throw the best gear and spec glass cannon with any bow/caster/melee/totem/summoner whatever else and you'll get 10 times the damage. High level bear trap needs a buff, just scale it back in PVP alone. lvl 21: (1450-2000)/2= 1725 avg damage lvl 22: (1600-2260)/2= 1930 avg damage lvl 23: (1800-2500)/2= 2150 avg damage lvl 24: (2000-2800)/2= 2400 avg damage you also have not considered how much phys damage you can get from the tree. if you really want to scale this skill then go crit. Does BearTrap poison trapped enemies with Snakebite gloves at full frenzy charges?
