I just discovered Grim Dawn and it beats POE and Last Epoch.

Yes, Grim Dawn is a hidden gem for an ARPG that has no ladder. A lot of build choice and while the gameplay may feel like a snooze, it is when you reach endgame is when builds will get much faster and more interesting. Though, it will never reach the craziness of PoE and I think that is fine cause I am not a fan of blowing up stuff 4 screens away or finish a map in under 20 seconds.

I have played nearly 2000 hours of Grim Dawn (most of it from last year cause I dropped PoE around late 2019) and I have made over 30 builds. I am still theorycrafting more builds for Grim Dawn.

The base game is great, but adding Ashes of Malmouth will give you a lot more contents (2 acts, 2 masteries, and more items), and also adding the Forgotten Gods will also add more content and QoL throughout the game. The game feels almost open world with these two expansions.

Edit: I do not think Grim Dawn is better than Path of Exile, but I got burned out from PoE that Grim Dawn replaced my APRG spot that PoE has held on for 7 years.

I honestly think the only people who think POE is better than Grim Dawn haven't played Grim Dawn. I can honestly say I have never played any video game better than Grim Dawn, not even the Soulsborne series. Grim Dawn is so good that I don't think I will play any other video game much until I totally complete it and all its expansions and afterwards the huge Reign of Terror mod for it.

I've played Grim Dawn a lot. It is great. It is very close game play to PoE from 2014 and 2015. More tactics required in the fighting, like kiting bosses or running away and healing up then coming back into the fight. I like the trading and better crafting options in PoE. The PoE endgame is also much more robust. The PoE community is much larger whereas Grim Dawn is more of a solo game.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
OP is the one who wrote 3 days ago he discovered LE and it was much better than POE.

And let me tell you as an owner of LE who felt asleep on it multiple times before uninstalling it, he's wrong, except for casual players and also when it comes to picking loots on the ground and crafting, everything is much worse in LE. Just a random troll who doesn't play POE.
Grim Dawn is ok if someone is after really easy game, where are no bad build/skill choices. Most annoying is that you can literally read a book between mob packs. If "easier" is "better", then sure, I guess...

I have now sunk 22 hours into Grim Dawn and about 20 hours into POE, so I can give a fairly good assessment of the two games. Grim Dawn is a better designed game in nearly every aspect. Its design is nearly flawless. Crate Entertainment truly listened to fans and made an incredible isometric ARPG that no other ARPG can touch in quality (and I've played all the relevant isometric ARPGs out there). In comparison, many POE levels seem rushed, and the combat feels floaty. Grim Dawn has fantastic visceral combat with effects that make the combat feel substantial (not floaty). Grim Dawn has MUCH better art design than POE. Therefore, Grim Dawn has significantly better visuals than POE. Even the spell effects in Grim Dawn are far more impressive than POE spell effects. Grim Dawn has excellent skill trees that are not overly complex and not overly simple. They are just right. In comparison, POE's skill trees are a giant mess of needlessly complex and convoluted nonsense. Crafting in Grim Dawn is also far better designed than POE's crafting system. I could go on and on how Grim Dawn beats POE in every aspect, and it's really not even close.

I have Grim Dawn and all its main expansions, and I probably won't play much of my other video games for several months until I completely finish Grim Dawn. It's really THAT good. In fact, I can say without a doubt that Grim Dawn is the best video game I have ever played.
