Development Manifesto: Harvest Crafting
NOW CAN WE GET A BEASTIARY ORB FOR HARVEST?
Also, isn't the no crafting on influence gear a big enough nerf? Does it matter if you get targeted annuls on basic gear? Last edited by l2ap on Mar 10, 2021, 5:22:41 PM

Kind of disappointing. I think overall Harvest is a net positive for the game. This was the first league I actually crafted some sick gear that wasn't perfect, but still quite good. The major thing that kept me coming back to play every day this season was the excitement of trying to get the crafts I needed to finish the gear for the builds I was working towards. Harvest was a way to make more builds and gear accessible to players who don't have a lot of time to play or are less experienced with the game. This league was the most fun I've had playing POE and it would be a shame if harvest became borderline useless because it is such a fun and rewarding mechanic that rewards crafting and gear knowledge. If these changes go through I doubt I'll ever have so much fun with a future POE league again.

" if GGG actually cared about the player base and actually took a stance against scammers then it would be a much better game. |
|
" You're funny because it has nothing to do with abusers or Tft on discord. GGG makes the game just less fun for the actual players and it won't change a thing for the 1% that makes mirror items every league without harvest remember that the craft are tradable, so again, something that GGG totally approved to begin with. As if no one knew there'd be a market for crafts, gotta be oblivious :)
Sucks to see this been heavily nerfed, while something with Harvest had to change, this seems like its better to just remove it than keep it. For the 1st time me and many more players were able to actually experience the game instead of giving up when you realize you have to basically forget about real life, job, family to get somewhere in the game.
During this league I learned how to craft, how mods worked, how certain mods roll from certain items, etc, made it to beat all endgame bosses, crafted my own gear for the very first time. Harvest actually gave me a purpose to play the game and it was exciting to craft my own items and help others craft their items. This only feels like it will affect the normal player base and your extremely hardcore players won't be affected much by it. I was just talking today to one of my friends ingame how I was starting to prepare for 3.14 and was excited to make it to endgame and craft my stuffs, but I guess for most of us that reality won't happen. Thanks.
Good job, honestly.
Now when it is at better state could we get ability to store like 20 crafts? It is still going to feel bad to throw away those swap resistances and other very usable but not super strong crafts.
You should check how many players craft that "insane op gear" in SSF HC or even SSF.
If someone crafted via Harvest amazing item that doesn't mean he use few seeds. He probably farm currency and spam some specific harvest crafts until he get it. F.e. crafting perfect bleed bow cost me around 350 ex in seeds and was only possible coz I traded all of that seeds using discord. It is still impossible IMO to get that bow in SSF mode. |

Absolutely horrible to read this.
The level or retention alone that Harvest provided should be worth it enough to make it obvious this is just so stupid. Being able to stick around weeks longer to go for those absolute insane items was a lot of fun, ESPECIALLY with Maven Orbs in play now. Can't focus remove? Okay *maybe*, *MAYBE* we can talk about having to yolo Annul if you want that sweet sweet base but not being able to focus slam onto Influence? yet you CONSTANTLY make influenced items the only thing that matters? Does anyone even use uninfluenced base rares for anything? This is just dumb and foolish and foolish and dumb. 100% have said time and time again there is little to nothing Diablo can do to bring me back to the franchise while PoE exists. I didn't stop to think what PoE could do to drive me back. I urge you, along with the plethora of others in this thread to reconsider these just completely out decisions.
So you correctly identified in the first part of the post that trading crafts was a major community concern, and in the second part of the post you just remove the incentive for players to have those crafts in the first place, empowering those who trade exclusively, and still not addressing the issue you identified to begin with.
You still should consider making them untradeable or doubling the storage count. Ign: Shaavu

So, the crafting was too powerful* but when are we going to address that fining items is too bad? Harvest big hit for me was I could find better gear as I level instead of feeling like I needed to trade for it because it cost too many precious trade resources to make gear that was equippable.
*for people who were already easily farming all the content and not really for people gearing up anymore. |
