sorry to say but as far as i know awakened hextouch does not work if you use a curse on hit ring. You would need to put both curses in the links of awakened hex touch, because else the following happens:

-attack with BA applies your curse from the ring (1 curse)
-wave of conviction with awakened hex touch applies additionally the curse from the links (2 curses)
-you continue to attack with BA and your ring applies your ring curse again, but there it doesn't say that you can put 2 curses on the enemy -> the curse from the hextouch is removed (1 curse)

thats why you need additional curse on chest, if you dont have both curses in the links of awakened hex touch
3 other Midgame Buffs you could use:

-> lvl 7 Sigil of Power: with 3 att/s you can stack it to full in 4 sec, gives 13% less dmg taken and 12-200 lightning damage.

-> Flame Wall: lvl 21 are cheap and gives 80 - 120 base fire dmg to BA

-> Mantra of Flames: Good rolled ones get expensive, but are worth it. 5-12 fire dmg to attacks per Buff, and we got plenty of Buffs.

5 Golem
1 Lightning Golem additional Buff
2 Aura
1 Primal Aegis
1 Blood Rage
1 Steel Skin
2-4 Unique flask Buffs
1 Sigil of Power (if you use it)

= A Ton added dmg

Are you sure about this, did you test this thoroughly? I thought it worked like HardPrimat explained. If that's not the case I learned something new
Proof from wiki and yes i use this all the time

For example, if you have a ring with Flammability
on Hit and a skill attached to Awakened Hextouch Support and Elemental Weakness
, both curses can be applied without overwriting the first curse.

Okay that is good to know then :) I've read the wiki multiple times but it's not explained well enough for me there to understand how it works exactly :c
