If you're having trouble keeping spiders up you can switch your virulence setup to cyclone-(awakened)cast when channeling-lightning orb-chance to poison, then switch cyclone to storm burst for best single target virulence stacking. Be aware that it might me mana intensive if you don't have sanctuary of thought, and you'd want high mana regen/reduced mana cost of skill implicit on your rings. Leveling is also a good option, since you can pick up an additional curse for more damage and get a large defensive/offensive cluster or voices with 2/3 mediums for 65/70 virulences. Also if you'd like, you can cap your elemental avoidance by getting the shield mastery(20%) and going for arcane sanctuary notable(to the right of CI)(25%), then essence craft fractured movementspeed ES boots and get searing/eater implicit, that should be able to get you to 100%. | |

Honestly I've ran with Eber's since the beginning and I haven't had a reason to switch out (got it for like 75c a week ago with the HoA enchant). The build creator has it as bis for most iterations and I see no reasn to argue. It has alot of ES as a defensive layer and the best part is its Void Gaze ability that debuffs opponents by -20% chaos res -- that's a bunch of DPS you're missing out on. But obviously your rare helmet offers you flexibility and utility with other pieces of gear and tree choices so its up to you still.

So I picked up some white triad gloves (5ex) and found a Ghost Dance 4G1R1B SotL (7ex) which freed up some kills points, and both have given a noticeable damage spike. I'm doing Simulacrum 30 deathless now on the setup below. I also managed to take down Uber Sirus in 3/5 attempts by switching into Iron Reflexes SotL and moving some skill points around as necessary. I found I absolutely needed the triad grips to finish him off in time (I failed 3-4 times @ around 15-20% before finally getting a pair) -- you are definitely on a strict timer before the degens overwhelm everything. I will provide a link to the fight below if anyone pushing this build needs something of a tutorial (aka getting the damnable worms out properly):

Been a decent league, got some RL stuff coming up in a few weeks so probably won't be doing much more.
Took the build in a slightly different direction this time, works pretty well. 12m DPS for mapping and 16m for single target (gem swaps). Due to all the changes I found spells to be a bit more of a pain, so added in some spell suppression via watchers eye and escape jewel (which also increased evasion more). No problem with any standard content, but can't handle any of the uber bosses... every hit is a one shot. I haven't tried all of them, but the ones I have hit way too hard for me to handle. Melding of the flesh variant would be recommended to try them. Degen is, of course, the main thing I have to keep an eye out for. | |
It is a good build with which I have learned a lot of the game. On maps you are immortal, and you can facetanking most bosses. The only thing was the market issue at the beginning of the league, the dagger and the shield (core items) were quite expensive, and that ends up slowing you down while you farm them. In this league this build was not very friendly starter.
The damage issue is quite lacking. I have killed Sirus, Maven, elder, shaper, new bosses too (not ubers). Big bugs kill you before you can kill them (ubers, wave 29-30 sims, aul, feared...) How do you kill Koksis in Simulacrum? I have everything that is supposed to do more damage according to the guide, triad, lvl31hoagem, swapping support gems, storm burst setup, and I have a hard time lowering his life, he ends up killing me. The last few waves of delirium seem impossible. I'm level 99 and I have 100ex to invest, what do you recommend me to invest in? Is it worth it to keep putting money into it for some more damage or not? Overall I'm happy with the build, it's the only build I've managed to reach this level, killing most bosses, making good money etc... I totally recommend it, it gives what it promises. " For damage you'd ideally want sniper's mark since unique bosses have 66% less curse effect, but marks apply their effect fully, or get an additional curse to apply both sniper's mark and despair at the same time. Also I'm not sure if vuln on hit on your Triads can overwrite other curses, so it might be a good idea to get ones without it since it does nothing for you due to full chaos conversion. For jewels you should get 2 voices(~20ex each) and 2 pure agony medium jewels for 70 max virulences, which should offer you a substantial boost in DPS. For more survivability you can get Sanctuary of Thought forbidden flame/flesh, though they're quite pricy at about 60-80ex for flame and about 10ex for flesh last I checked, they'll give you 20% mana as es, 25% increased mana reservation and 50% reduced mana cost of skills, which'll let you to free up some atlas points. Also you can drop Runebinder since you use cast when channeling and the lower spellblock node since you use GB and have tempest shield which lets you cap spellblock even without them. Either level your awakened cast when channeling to 5 or buy one, it gives you immunity to interruptions from stuns so you can anoint either an additional curse or charisma, or just switch to Immunity from stuns pantheon. You can also switch Circle of Nostalgia with buff effect to increased agony crawler damage one since you should have 100% chance to poison even without it. Also you should be able to get a much better rare ring/boots/belt with attributes/res/es/armour with a budget of around 10ex. Good boots with ailment avoidance are awfully overpriced IMO, and it'd be cheaper to get a fractured movementspeed or some other t1/2 mod ES base boots and spam shrieking(26-30% avoidance,1c)/deafening(31-35% avoidance,8c) essence of loathing on them until you get what you need, then use eater/exarch to get ailment avoidance implicit and action speed/ignite or freeze avoidance. With enough res on boots/ring/belt you may be able to get mending flash and with purity of ice should be able to get 85%+ all max res. | |
" It's really about keeping your spider count & virulence stacks up -- meaning you absolutely need to run Sniper's Mark in late wave Simulacrum (specifically for kosis & omni). Take off your despair on hit ring (obviously use something comparable stat wise), and take convocation out of your cast when stunned and put in sniper's mark. Make sure you've swapped melee splash for multisrike support (once they spawn -- find a safe corner and swap). Also you should still be playing around his slam explosions and throw flurry (i.e. run away do not face tank them). You should also be reading the mods and rotate in a flask to deal with "phys damage as +x% element" (try to get gain charge when hit too). All that should put you on the road to success.
