[3.13] Frost Bomb Ignite Elementalist 10M+ ignite bombs! Rough Draft

After some tweaking to pob I was able to get the damage with awakened gems over 12m ignite, and 10m ignite with non-awakened gems. Map clear can be made easier with spell cascade/awakened spell cascade :) The new pastebin SHOULD work.

I want to point out that this POB damage is NOT ACCURATE, as Frost Bomb scaling is still based on the 200% effectiveness rather than 300% rework from 3.13. I have scaled the gem to the appropriate level to reflect the increase to the base damage as closely as i could (Level 24 base puts it like 5% over the base damage shown in the gem reveal).

With the rework to frost bomb, our AOE Radius will be 37-43 AOE (Bigger when convergence is down), which is fairly large, and with less duration 25% from passive tree, there is very little wait time on the explosion, as well as ignite proliferation further spreading the ignites. Using Emberwake, we are able to make ignites last for 10 seconds, allowing us to stack 2 very strong ignites. The build relies on dodge/spell dodge/evasion to stay alive, and CWDT + Steelskin as well as Ball Lightning + Blind support to try to blind our enemies when they make contact. Vaal grace is also included in the kit for Oh-Shit moments.

As for now, the POB is missing 100% increased damage effectiveness, and the +7 AOE radius update on Frost Bomb, so the damage should be much higher once they update the gem.

I am very open to ideas and improvements. My main concern is the AOE Radius.. i really wanna push it to 50+ but I dont quite know how without sacrificing life/damage to do so.

Pastebin updated as of 1/21/2021
Awakened Gem Setup: 2.1mill dps ignites with 12mill ignite overall
Non Awakened is about 70% of that amount. Mixing both awakened and non awakened will prolly be ideal until youre able to afford full set.
Use Spell Cascade while mapping to carpet bomb mobs down. :)

IDK why your pastebin kept getting error

This is your original pastebin
https://pastebin.com/ELLXDp0Y

4.2m ignite damage (note with covered in ash)

I plan on swapping to this after running my flameslinger to red maps or so.

Just a few tweaks of your tree, I got this.

1.3m ignite dps
8.3m ignite damage

main points
take out cold to fire and combustion
add EE, your hits are pure cold now
use WOC - combustion on trigger wand so you have a debuff -69% fire resist
6L frost bomb would be frost bomb - burning - ignite prolif - deadly ailments - swift aff - unbound ailments
I also took out emberwake as you cant reliably ignite twice with frost bomb on single target.

https://pastebin.com/dZCRw3TT

if you are worried about frostbomb cooldown during mapping, you can swap swift aff with second wind, just like those discharge folks are doing.

FYI Covered in ash, it is a unique effect that only chieftains taking hinekora death's fury can have (on you hitting rare/unique enemies), or xoph's blood (on enemy hitting you). There's nothing that can apply covered in ash otherwise. FYI you have that on your "wallslinger build" too.

You can use infernal cry, but it has a very small aoe better suited for melee. If you have tried it you will see most of the time you wont be able to apply it reliably.

cheers

Idk why but in my mind i kept thinking i couldnt have 2 exposures on a target at once, so thats why i didnt add WOC, but I just realized I can totally have multiple exposures as each elemental exposure is a seperate debuff

How does EE work with WOC since it hits with all 3 elements with this build, wouldnt that just negate EE and end up buffing the resistances of the mob to all elements by +25%?

Also, you can reliably ignite 2x with emberwake, the ignite duration with this setup is around 10 seconds, so it's quite easy to stack 2x ignites.

Also for mapping I am not too worried about cooldown, I will end up using spell cascade and awakened spell cascade to clear maps

As far as "covered in ash goes" that comes from the warcry, Infernal Cry, which covers enemies in ash, and it's mostly intended for use on bosses.

EE is separate from WOC.
EE adds 25% to resist of last hit element, and subtract 50% from resist of elements not hit

WOC subtract 25% resist of the highest hit element

So ideally you wanna hit with WOC hitting with fire element dealing the most dmg (WOC is phys converted to 25% fire and 25% lightning)

then you apply a hit using another element so the mob is weaker against the element of your choice.

It goes like this:

Sirus has 50% fire resist
You hit with WOC-combustion (fire dmg dominant) - Sirus has 50% + 25% (EE) - 19% (combustion) - 25% (WOC) = 31% fire resist
Then you hit with anything but fire (make sure no flat dmg to fire on gear)
Sirus has 31% - 50% = -19% fire resist

EE: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Elemental_Equilibrium
WOC: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Wave_of_Conviction

Spell cascade is bad cos it reduces your hit. Ignite is based on your base hit so it's kinda bad. The AOE coverage is huge enough already IMO. We can also clear using arc without changing anything, cos we ignite using any damage.

The 10% slower on emberwake is kinda meh imo, but i havent made this build yet. Waiting for POB to update so it's better represented.

Just seems like EE isnt worth the effort, since I have managed to push the build to 9.3M (using non-awakened gems) and 12M (using awakened gems) respectively. I will probably go without using it.

As far as the hit loss from spell cascade, the damage will still be MORE than sufficient to clear out maps, even with spell cascade it's only a 33% overall DPS loss, but with how high the DPS is, it wont even be noticable during mapping.

Edit: after testing out cutting cold to fire with my current setup and going down to EE for the EE damage boost, its not much higher overall just because of the fact that cold to fire makes the frost bomb damage deal a much larger ignite due to the wording on shaper of flames

Man that "Total damager per Ignite" thing in PoB is really fooling alot of people into thinking the DPS is high. FYI it's total damage during the duration of the ignite. GL

Oh shit you're right, that means i need to rework things. Im glad i woke up in time to see this lol
Build is only gonna be like 2.5mill ignite DPS at best after the buff to frost bomb, so the DPS isnt quite as insane as I originally thought. Still plenty enough to kill all content since vortex DoT builds used to do 2mill or so, but definitely not as beefy as I was expecting.
Why do you have frost bomb ticked to level 24 in PoB? If you have levels on your gear, those are already accounted for without you having to up the levels manually. I put the gem back down to level 20 which is the realistic level and you lost nearly half your damage.

it was ticked to 24 before the frost bomb update happened in POB, bc the OLD frost bomb at 24 was the new one at 20. I havent touched the POB since the update came out
