I'm going strong on RF now. Since I'm not playing SSF, I traded for a Rise of the Pheonix shield because that +5% max fire resist is hard to...resist. The rest of the gear is still trash, but that's to be expected. Ritual has been very kind to me with jewels at least and I've got a couple decent 7% life jewels.
On that note, I've got a couple small recommendations for a better way to route around the passive tree.
Firstly, and most importantly, I routed using the strength nodes near the jewel node continuing from the ring of life to Combat Stamina, instead of taking the strength and dex node below sanctity (trade 1 str and 1 dex node for 2 str node). 0 extra points required and you get free access to the jewel slot.
Secondly, and very minor, above Born to Fight, I routed using a strength node instead of int. 5 hp from 10 str isn't nothing! That's a trivial change.
In general, jewel slots are much more valuable than raw 5% life nodes. Jewels provide at least 5% life, but often more and combined with other useful stuff. You can craft 6 or 7% life jewels with relatively little currency, but I haven't even had to that yet. I've just been snatching life jewels from Ritual so far.
That's not a full tree for the build, just the copy of how I've progressed so far, but it does show the minor re-routes.
Thanks Lemabelle!
I appreciate the feedback. I've checked out your tree. Nice job! Anytime you get a jewel worth socketing, it's most definitely worth respec'ing out of something less valuable. Same goes for Cluster Jewels too.
I appreciate these notes as they make me look at my builds through different eyes. Thanks for the post!

Love the pod cast and love the "I just want to play" :P
Awesome Saberdragon565!
I've passed it on to Justin. Thanks for taking the time to be so kind. Also, if you want to talk about how much Justin sucks, I'm your guy. (I do just want to play...)

Does the add 2-4 fire damage to the weapon conflict with Elemental Equilibrium ??
IM playing SSF and i think its a nice find for me so far so really hope it works :)
if it dosent is the a good way to remove it by crfafting ?
Hey BaGooKTribe!
That's the sucky thing about EE. One mod can ruin what was almost a perfect Item. It's easier to just find another item.
As mentioned, you could find a way to annul (remove the mod) but those orbs are rarer than exalts.

Any way to make this build atleast decently tanky?
My brother is playing it actualy (not the most experienced player) and hes geting nearly one shoted by everything on t1 maps, he has 4,5i life and max res for sure.
Hi Enterich!
It would have been better if your brother posted so that we could have looked at his gear. The build is already built with a "defence first" mentality. It can handle a lot of harsh content. There's a lot more to tankiness than just life and resists. The gems chosen are very defensive along with the ascendancies.
I posted my example video yesterday. Maybe compare your brother's play and gear to that and see what's different.

Thank you @Wrecker of Days for this awesome guide!
I've been playing POE since beta but have been away for the last year or so and just came back to try out the new league with this build. Having a blast!
I leveled with scorching ray which was a ton of fun in itself, reminded me a lot of the arcane sorceress in D3, then switched to RF in my early 50's. The first couple of levels were a little cumbersome, ran through a lot of health pots but now, at level 68, every thing just melts with almost zero button mashing. The best part is that RF is still only 4L and I hardly even bother using cyclone!
BTW, I use dash in a spare socket in my chest to get around those pesky lab runs... helps a lot! I'll likely have to move this to an unset ring eventually as I would find it hard now to play without. Also, my gear is complete garbage and I'm 100% SSF.
Thanks again!
That's awesome feedback Dhrakken!
And I'm glad it was positive too :). I like hearing how people level and progress with this build and I'm glad that they build is really enjoyable for you. Thanks for taking the time to be so encouraging.

At first, I didn't understand why Cyclone was at such a low level.
And then it hit me.
Or should I say I hit me?
I forgot about phys reflect. :P
Thank you for such a great guide! It's very relaxing to play this build, and I'm deeply enjoying it.
Oh awesome deepcedure!
I'm glad you're having such a great time. Thanks for taking the time to be kind (and funny). I appreciate it.
Another secondary reason for the lower level Cyclone is Dex requirement. I didn't want Cyclone to need more Dex than the highest dex requirement of an important gem.
Thanks again!

I had some crazy luck with harvest rolling yesterday and managed to craft a 7% life 19% burning damage jewel. I missed harvest league, so that's a new feature to me. It seems incredibly useful! Moving those two points I mentioned earlier to route for that extra jewel node is definitely worth it. There's a fourth jewel slot that I'll probably pick up eventually near the top, but that requires 1 point of travel. A fifth could be had for 2 points of travel, but that's not worth it unless the jewel is truly exceptional. I'll ignore the large jewel socket unless I happen to come across something worthy of that investment, but the right large jewel could open up a lot of potential. Jewels are incredibly powerful.
I'm in the home stretch for this build. All the important pieces are in place and other than large jewel potential, the only nodes left for me to grab are life nodes to keep scaling up. Level 82 and on the rise. I plan to ride the build out to about lv 90 and T12 maps and then probably start into a flicker strike build or something crazy like that. I never really have the patience for much over T12.. always have trouble with map sustain. I really like this build and how super chill it is. With all the golems out, it's even more chill than strength focused RF build I tried before. Mapping with netflix on the side is easy. I love it.

Infernal Legion support for the golems is just in the build for fun because the damage doesn't scale enough for it to be useful later on. You can easily use that socket for a movement ability without affecting functionality in the long run or resorting to an unset ring.
Awesome Lemabelle!
I'm glad it's been a good experience for you. I appreciate your kind words and feedback! I hope the rest of the time is good to you until you go with Flicker Strike. Thanks for the post!

Isn't it much better to use Vortex+Hextouch Support+Flammability to apply both EE and -fire res from Flammability, instead of cwdt+bl+flammability? Just put vortex on left click and it will be casted constantly, debuffing anyone in vortex range.
CWDT with ball lightning does fuck all, because it doesn't proc often enough.
Hey HornyBrimstone!
Having an instant skill as your Hextouch proc'er is a great idea. I personally am not a fan of proc'ing skills having a cooldown but that's just preference.
Outside of prefrence though, the reason I don't rely on Instant Skills as a "non-button" in my one-button guides is that not everyone plays on PC. So using an Instant skill inadvertently on PC makes perfect sense and take advantage of it any way you can. Console players still need to hit the button.
I like Ball Lightning for the reason listed in the guide and I love that there isn't a cooldown on it.
CwDT may seem like a joke while levelling, but keep in mind that the gem's damage threshold doesn't change, but the enemy damage and density does. Ball Lightning will be constantly be going off as you get into more challenging content.

Most of the life rolls on your gear are decent. Look for a marble amulet or something else with a high life roll to improve your pool. A new chest with life would help - Tabula doesn't do anything for you at high levels; even a 5L is effective for RF. Also, you don't have Inspiration socketed with your current 6L so you're losing out on the buff to elemental damage from those charges. I'd swap that for the AoE gem for a damage boost. Having Inspiration with cyclone grants charges really quickly and buffs the inspiration socketed with RF.
I always splurge on a +40% RF damage enchant helm, but that could be hard to come by in true SSF.
I aware of what I can do to max the damage out. Going for 3 to 6 burning bright cluster jewels would help more than anything really. I have the Tabula chest because it is what I found in the second zone and worked well to get me where I am. A better chest isn't going to change much in the long run unless I can afford a 6 link exploding chest with a ton of life on it. Even then it would only help clear speed a tad while giving me only a tiny bit of a dps boost.
Again, mostly SSF at the moment and my currency sucks. I have like 16c total I think. I haven't been getting any amulet drops to do the CC recipe even. It's bad. I just got into T6 maps and as I said, they are slow going for the moment. Even lower white maps feel slow to me. The damage isn't really there at all.
The real DPS boost to RF right now is cluster jewels which are no where to be found in this guide. Literally burning bright is the most massive DPS boost for RF compare to any other current dps boost node on the tree. It is that significant. Even still. with most other RF builds running 6 burning brights, the top dps is like 2 mil for boss dps that I see. I could live with that, but the price of those are annoyingly high.
Ideally, I would want a Replica Atziri Foible necklace, a Legacy of the Fury boots or The Stampede boots for items. Add in a crusader chest with explosion option on top of that with a lot of life as well. That necklace though is like 3-5 ex which I am no where near on for currency right now. Beyond that, getting ~100 to max life rolls on the rest of the gear is about the best I can do. If could squeeze in another hex to use Elemental Weakness with Flammability then Eye of Malice looks like an attractive option at that point instead of the CWDT wave of conviction inconsistent setup currently in this build. Doing so would work great with Master Mind of Discord to regen mana to the point we could use MoM to offset the degen enough to strip points from life regen nodes to more damage nodes. Again, I am just theory crafting here. As the build currently is I don't think it is going to be what I am looking for in an end game character
.
Hey Viscar!
Definitely only play a build that interests you for sure. Don't forget that SSF requires patience with gear. You've done an awesome job with your gear for SSF! But one thing to keep in mind is the value of life. RF does get a decent damage boost from life and sometimes focusing on other damage boosts, we forget about the fact that Max life rolls impact both our offence and defence. The SSF road is a longer one for sure. I love it. My RF character has been in a 5 link for quite a few leagues now ;).
Also, fully ascending will always help any build.
And good job making sure that you have Adding Lightning on your gloves for Cyclone's EE effect.
Hang in there. Things look good SSF wise. But obviously the gear isn't great for damage yet. It'll come.

Hello, was referred to this build when asking around for something light on my wrists. Just noticed that this is tagged "ssf", while I plan on playing standard. Are there better options regarding uniques instead of rare modified items or other builds that are meant for standard?
As long as this build can allow me to handle end-game content I'm happy.
Don't bother playing this in SSF, you can forget about endgame without expensive items.
How expensive? As I already said I'm not interested in ssf, but this build has only rare modified items due to it being for ssf, so I'm wondering if any unique items would do the job better.
Hey Theo1290!
I've been playing this build SSF since forever. I've completed all Atlas objectives with it no problem (on a 5 link). I have barely even crafted anything on my gear that's linked in the guide. It's been a really smooth build for me. I honestly don't care for uniques but, none-the-less, a favourite of mine is Searing Touch. The idea of doing an RF build without a shield is so cool to me...and the reason I started making non-unique RF guides 9 leagues ago.
I don't have a direct answer for you though (as mentioned). That'll have to be for others. If no-one responds, just take a look through the wiki's lists of uniques and keyword "burning" or something.
So you can spend what currency you want on whatever you like.
