[3.14] Odif's Old Obsolete Skel Mage Guide, New one is in a new thread

Noob question: inside the radius of Dead Reckoning there are only 3 allocated nodes with 10 intellingence each. It is not compulsory to have 4 allocated nodes, totalling 40 intel, to summon mages?
The nodes don’t have to be allocated.

Question - A bit confused, the guide uses Stone Golem in the links but mentions chaos golem as a defensive layer?

Stone golems provide life regen.
Chaos golems provide physical damage reduction

Will this build work for SSF?

The build works quite well for SSF ... ONLY if you already have the Dead Reckoning jewel.

Another person who follows this guide in SSF, started as a Trickster, found the Dead Reckoning, and started over as a witch to run this guide. He did just fine.

Dead Reckoning is just too rare a drop to try and do this build without having it first. (in SSF)

Hello, i am a "newbie". i try between Arc and Storm Brand. Arc looks better for me. Do i loose something, when i use Arc?
Excuse my English :)

This build needs a spell to apply a "hit" to proc EE and apply a curse.

You can use any single element spell.
Some do the job of delivering EE and a curse better than others.

Arc will hit more monsters initially, but Storm Brand keeps hitting, for something like 7 seconds.

You cast Arc, you "hit" 7 or 8 mobs. Then you have to cast again, and again.

Cast Storm Brand and you dont need to cast again for 7 or 8 seconds. Particularly good in Rituals.

Thanks for the Info. I love to play this build!!
Loving this build, I got into yellow maps and it's smooth sailing so far.

I had a question about Bone Offering. How does it affect minions? Do I have to recast it every time after I summon my skellies or do they have the buff as long as the grey icon thingy is above my head?

Cheers

Hmm, the only time you mention the Chaos golem is in the "Defense" part of your guide. It's never mentioned in the "Skills" section, nor does it appear in your PoB. I'm confused on what golem to actually use now. Are you leaving it up to the player or did I overlook something somewhere? :)
I feel like the life regen of the stone golem would layer very well with the regen of vitality as well as the spiky heals you get from blocking

but honestly i can't ignore the Lord of the Dead feel of sticking a carrion golem along with everything else you got going on
That is assuming the +physical damage adds onto skeleton mage damage, considering im still opting for Triad Grip
