Happy to say that she is recovering well. She has been rather quiet of late which is most unusual. Hopefully there will be no lingering effects, but time will tell.

I am very sorry for your daughter! A few members of my family have/had it and thankfully, there all fine (again). Even my 89-year-old Grandpa recovered from it (although he has several severe health issues). So proud of him! Sadly, not everybody survives such a serious illness as this. So be aware of what you are doing and act responsively guys! ;)
Hope she is doing well, one of our clients has had to sell his business due to lingering effects from Covid.
Fortunately he has insurance.

Thank you for the update. I keep reading about the long-haulers and it really drives home that simply looking at the grim 'death' statistic (or the fact that it is a very low fatality disease) is far from comprehending the real impact of Covid-19. In a way, I find a widespread non-lethal disease with unknown long term effects and significant rate of asymptomatic spread scarier than one that just kills 20% of its victims but is easier to detect and thus take seriously.

I strongly believe that we'll be seeing how Covid-19 changes the world not in the next year or two but over the next decade. I only hope we as a species have the clarity of mind to keep an eye on it rather than be distracted by any number of fresh hells.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
Covid has taught me that if mankind ever faces a serious threat from a pandemic, we're completely fucked as people won't take it seriously.

Agreed.

Unfortunately "clarity of mind" appears to be rather absent from our so-called leaders/politicians. We really do need to kick them in the nuts to bring them to their senses, after all, there is no economy without living breathing people.

Sad but true. At least some of us know what has to be done, and will do so gladly and without hesitation. Now to persuade the covidiots.

depends on teh country
last I heard, new zealand whooped covid's fuckin ass
Get the Vaccines out there and give it to all the Nurses and other Health personell which works with the shit everyday. But no, they say, wuhuu, we need to give to the elderly and such first.
And then I say: What is fucking wrong with you?!

But is it enough? No, probably not. Producing Vaccines requires materials, resources, work and money. And when they think they nailed it all, more sick and dead people pops up. And now the Mutated Covid is upon us, which is far worse.

I wonder what kind of Virus will be around next year. Because I think we may have quite a distance left to go, before you can see this as finished.

After the Health personal been vaccined, all the idiots around should be taken care of. THEN all the rest should be taken care of.

And other then that I will cross fingers. And take precautions rather then not.
