Star Citizen now has virtually nothing left to offer...

How good will it be? I don't know. But ground-pounding was almost the only thing Star Citizen had left to entice people with, that E:D didn't already have. And now even that is gone. At this point, even if Star Citizen were to be finished next year (like that's ever gonna happen), I wonder what the point would even be? E:D already does everything SC aimed to do, but polished up over years. Sorry, I just never got tired of laughing at Star Plebeians. :p Last edited by Exile009 on Dec 13, 2020, 10:07:39 PM Last bumped on Dec 18, 2020, 4:59:30 PM

Hey, there's no telling what they might be able to do with it between now and 2032 when it finally launches.

I'll never forget my one time at a Chris Roberts cult meeting. My god. Surreal. Suddenly I realised how non-Exiles felt when they learned even a fraction of what I gave GGG. Incomprehensible.
As for ED: Odyssey, I feel like it's in closer competition with No Man's Sky than StarCit. But it seems strangely...barren to me, Odyssey does. I get that's sort of the entire flavour of the Elite universe -- huge and mostly empty just like real space -- but I rarely use the landing feature as it is. The planetary landing suite is kind of a pain in the arse compared to just jaunting from station to station, BlueDanubing to slow but steady wealth. Also, woo. Frontier shelled out to license that song I imagine, but how could they not? edit: https://store.steampowered.com/newshub/app/359320/view/2934622488795351106 gives me a fair bit of hope; that's a lot more detail in the HUD than I expected. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Biggest scam of the century.
"The launch day went quite well with just a few small hotfixes to address minor problems."
Heist League - GGG |

I don't quite get it, now that Elite also has walking on ground, it somehow doesn't exist anymore in SC? Or what's the point of this thread? Everything in that trailer has been possible in SC for years now.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Somebody already said biggest scam of the century or I would.
Censored.

Level-headed first impressions of SC from a very experienced Commander from Elite: Dangerous. Some pretty hilarious moments. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" I know that feeling. Before they introduced these mega landing zones with lots of maze like areas and forced waiting via train stations, there was a small space station called Port Olisar, as default loc. This one still exists and should be changed as the default spawn location to avoid this long walking-sim / time wasting experiences in the bigger landing zones. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks | |
I'm surprised how much effort Frontier they're putting into the landside combat of Elite: Dangerous Odyssey. I honestly expected space legs to be closer to Eve's 'hey you can walk around stations now, isn't that amazing' than, well, a proper if pared-back fps. The combat is already looking far more involved than NMS', which is pretty simplistic.
edit: clarified who and what I'm talking about. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable. Last edited by Foreverhappychan on Dec 18, 2020, 4:36:12 PM
