Our Reasoning Behind the 3.13 Launch Delay

I'm very happy with your decision. I'll be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 for a month and then come back on the next patch 3.13 in january.

Thanks alot for that decision, very apreciated!

I can understand ggg's decision.
Realisticaly you can't compete with the hype created by cyberpunk. I do not think there has been a more anticipated game in the last 10 years.

Wow. You must think players of this game are the dumbest since you always treat them as such with lies and misdirection. Folks, this has nothing to do with Cyberpunk, which is why it seems so "off". This has EVERYTHING to do with Blizzard's Warcraft Shadowlands release (on track to be the BIGGEST Blizzard RPG release yet). Chris refuses to give free promotion to the real reason why they are delaying the release, instead he is promoting a single player short-lived finite game (thereby drawing more people away from Blizzard).

This announcement is just sad. Chris demonstrates that the entire game design priority is based on not having fun or even a good time: the core premise is to be toxic and greedy toward other players! That is sooo messed up. Also this post alludes to, by inference, there is zero confidence that the game on its own has any rewarding or redeeming long term qualities. If you look at what is considered announcing vs not.. it's inexcusable that the state of game bugs, poor design, rushed releases are entirely ignored for the obvious perspective of "early MTX sales are all that matter".

All I can suggest is: vote with your feet and don't bother buying MTX for a game that continues to take a crap on it's player base. For a company that claims to not be nefarious by design, you are the worst.
level a 90+ char or better yet get to maps until then you you know nothing about this game ^^ have a nice day
Honesty is a true rarity in the gaming industry (as most reading this know), so this is a bonus in my opinion. True fans will play whenever I suspect, but the truth is, the majority are not "full time players" or commonly said "Hardcore Gamers". Now the streamer aspect, while important for exposure, is likely less of an issue as you suspect, as I have heard several mention already (I follow half a dozen or so) that they would continue to play as they too of course are known for the game specific content they produce will have a smaller impact on their "Target audience".

With that said though, the numerous haters in the first few pages (perhaps more, I admittedly didn't read all 71 pages) have little to no business sense, clearly they are simply "worker bees" and not management of whomever they work for. They are of course important as the player base, but I have no concern letting fools spend their money on something I like as well. /grin

It's a smart business decision that feels like a bad player decision. Understandable and disappointing. Time off is exactly right. For someone like me that Christmas break is the best time for me to have a chance to begin a league that is usually flooded by the people leaving school or able to take off work.

I was hoping to come back in December and now I'll have to do the usual and decide if I will play several days/weeks in or skip it.

That's all venting for me. I think GGG is making a smart choice and the transparency is greatly appreciated. Enjoy the holiday with your families. It's been a rough year that isn't getting easier and developers deserve the time.
Pacific (GMT -8) Time
Very transparent, very professional. And the "fucked" sounds exaclty like somthing Chris would say. I do agree with the delay. I was indeed planning to skip this league if it kept it's original launch.
What does cyberfunk have to do with path of exile?

I just watched some gameplay videos. Its a complete different genre. Theres no looting or w/e players who are into path of exile wont skip a league start for a game like this...(well some) but definatly not alot....

The comparision with wow classic launch was just way off, since wow is kind of the same genre as poe is...you kill mobs to loot better items....

Cyberfunk is a shooter in open world...dont really understand the reasoning but i guess they think its better to delay after holidays...
Because people always save their money in holidays and w8 to spend it in january....right...
Honestly? Fair enough. As awesome and open as you guys are, GGG is still a company, and companies have to bring in money to stay survive.

Unpopular opinion - I would be 100% fine if you guys decided not to run events between now and January. It's nice to just have a chill out period between Leagues, IMO.
Update! Cyberpunk's launch date moved to 10 December! :))
